It was horrible experience, we were given a room in front of the elevator, asked if we could get a different and placed in a room that was facing a roof and at the end of building 6. The staff made comments about service members (Navy and Marine Corps) as if they were a bother for the hotel. Overall bad experience, would never go back.

Bevan Jacobs died on March 7. His wife Diane could not check in to the hotel because he made the reservations through Expedia. There is no way to get a human on the phone quickly to remedy the situation. She did not have his password to the site It took nearly an hour talking to someone in a foreign country just to change the name in the reservation
I reserved an ocean view room (and paid extra for the ocean view room), but there was no ocean view room available on check-in and no other accommodations or refund was offered. I was very disappointed that my stay was not what I had expected!!

To being with, a huge portion of the hotel is under construction. So there are limited facilities and restaurants available. My main issue is there is absolutely no communication whatsoever from the hotel until you physically get out to the beach and see signs in the sand - that the water is unsafe to get into due to sewage. A beach resort should disclose such information when you're making a reservation and certainly at check in.

Beautiful historic facility ! Extra daily charges to be aware of.. resort fee , historical fee, and $75/day valet park. $7 cup of coffee/self serve. Our room was beautiful and staff were always helpful and friendly. Would be nice to keep the hot tub open later for just adults to enjoy. Definitely recommend .. lots of interesting history to learn while there!

Perfect location and an easy walk to surrounding restaurants by the resort. The room was nice, spacious and the private fire pit was a plus. Can’t wait to return.

The view rooms supposed to be beachfront but very noisy and could hear bulldozers for several hrs on 2 days i was there. Not relaxing at all. Self parking they charge $55/night...ridiculous.

cost of goods was out of hand. $58 to buy 3 candy items for the kids and than asking for a tip on top of it was ridiculous seeing how I was at the market. Better places to spend my money. Valet service was spot on however

The property was beautifully decorated for the holidays. The staff was kind and welcoming. There are amazing shops and restaurants and plenty of activities. We would love to return!!
Some feedback is to just be mindful that if you don't reserve an ocean-facing room in the Victorian building, you WILL get one that overlooks the huge trash area. Aside from the eye sore, it's loud in the morning. That should be made clearer when booking. Also the internet on our TV never worked, but we weren't there for that so it wasn't much of an issue.

Not sure if it was just because it was off-season or rainy, but it was difficult to find restaurants/bars open. Especially before noon. But other than that, this was a fantastic place with great views, history, and quality.
Enjoyable great physical plant, room 5 star.
Only issue--Unfortunately with centralized call system extensive wait times contacting front desk & concierge service additionally usually only 1 staff at front desk, disappointing for a Hilton 5 star facility.

Authentic feel. The room was clean but I didn't enjoy the amount of dust behind things like the TV nor having to prop a chair in front of the desk to keep the drawer from sliding open. Good food near by and ice skating was fun!
