Blue House - Recently renovated
Within the jungle, the sea and the calmness the only thing that gives life is the Blue House. You will enjoy all the nature beauty, a view combined by blue and green colors can make your dreamy vacation reality. Notwithstanding it is located almost 15 minutes from Corfu center, Blue House is the ideal isolated home which can host up to 6 persons. There are 2 bedrooms that contain 2 single beds each, there is a hall with a sofa-bed for 2 persons and 1 exterior sofa. Extra camp bed could be provided if you wish. Our garden is a paradise and it consists from 2 acres. It’s full of flowers and grass, has a dinning area where you can enjoy your meal in the nature. Also there is an exterior small kid’s swimming pool. that can be also used, after your return from a long day at the beach that is located only 200m walk from our property. There are also provided sunbeds for enjoying the sun and umbrella for enjoying the sun under the shade. Furthermore you will find a BBQ that you can grill your lunch or dinner. A camping tend and a hammock are also provided to help you enjoy the summer in open air. Only 3 minutes walk away from our apartment is located a small river where you can spend a day fishing or relaxing under the shades of the tall trees and watching wild birds and if you `ll be lucky you can also find rabbits! The closest restaurant to our property, named Spiaggia Bianca is located only 4 minutes walk from our property, where you can enjoy fresh fish and other Greek specialties, cocktails, aperitivo with sea view. Before to reach the beach, you can make a fast stop to Spiaggia Bianca in order to see the types and the size from the fishes that our fishermen provide us the very same morning, and choose which you want to find prepared with your return from the beach. Your meal could be ready at the time you desire and also can be delivered to your apartment. Blue house guests have 15% discount! The closest bus station is located 5 minutes walk from the apartment where you can take a bus to Corfu center or to Dassia. The popular areas of Dassia and Ipsos are also only a small journey away. Nightlife in Dassia can be lively and there are plenty of restaurants, tavernas, bars and nightclubs. Ispos is a short cab ride from Dassia and is one of Corfu hottest nightlife resorts. The upmarket Gouvia marina is located just a short drive from the apartment and the dynamic capital, Corfu Town, is just 15 minutes drive away. Corfu Town is another short trip and offers a diversity of restaurants, nightclubs and live music venues.
Cruises from Dassia are easily accessible thanks to the proximity to Corfu Town. The stunning islands of Paxos and Antipaxos will provide spectacular beaches and a glimpse of the traditional Greek way of life. You can experience the delights of a visit to mysterious Albania by taking another boat trip from Dassia. A trip to the famous Blue Lagoon from Dassia should be included on any holiday schedule. Horse riding, tennis, golf and hiking are just a few of the land based sports available in and around Dassia. The thrilling theme park rides of Aqualand Water Park will keep the children busy for hours and is located in Agios Ioannis.

Some words about Merlyn's estate, the history of Merlin’s family is rich and connected with Corfu. Sydney married Zaira Theotokis, daughter of the Corfian Prime Minister of Greece, George Theotokis. In 1885 Merlin's children inherit land in various parts of Greece. In 1925 he introduced an American variety of oranges called "Washington navel" which took his name and has remained to this day known as "Merlin Oranges". He also imported to Corfu the Kumquat tree from which the famous sweet kumquat is made, which everyone buys as something completely related with the island. The Merlin estate played an important role in Corfu's economy, as it was the only orange grove for the aforementioned varieties and gave work to many locals. Subsequently, some unfinished constructions, that still remain today, were made during the coup years. Our place is part of this historic estate. Also there is Agios Nikolaos orthodox church.

Darstellung im Internet entspricht nicht den Tatschen
Das Haus hat zwei separate Eingänge. Es handelt sich um ein Doppelhaus, von dem nur die vordere Hälfte halbwegs annehmbar ist. Das zweite Bad und die weiteren Schlafplätze (wie in der Beschreibung aufgeführt) sind nur über den zweiten, unwegsamen , unbeleuchteten Eingang zu erreichen. Unvollendete Bauvorhaben (Mauerreste, -vorsprünge) erschweren den Weg außerdem. Das Grundstück wirkt vernachlässigt, Baustellenmaterialien und -abfälle tragen zum ungepflegten Gesamteindruck bei. Der Garten lädt nicht zum Verweilen ein, Sitzgelegenheiten beschränken sich auf verwitterte Plastikstühle ohne Polster. Die Ausstattung der beiden Küchen reicht knapp für zwei Personen. Die vorhandenen Dinge mussten vor Gebrauch gereinigt werden.
Der Auszug stand für uns in dem Moment fest, als wir am Herd einen Stromschlag bekamen.
Gesamturteil: Nicht empfehlenswert.
Die ruhige Einzellage hat uns sehr gefallen, Ausstattung war gut, einfach ohne Schnörkel, für uns war alles da. Preis-Leistung stimmt absolut.
Viel Natur drumherum für schöne Terrassen-Abende und mit einem Auto gut für Ausflüge gelegen!

Not what we expected for price
We never met our hosts but they were ok with communication. The beds were nicely made and the place was clean. However, we could not get the hot water working, the fridge gave us electric shocks including our two year old and the beds were very hard. There was no cutlery in the kitchen when we arrived and were told to retrieve from next door house with no apology. The lamps were not plugged in; small details but we concluded it was overpriced for what it was and sadly would not recommend for holiday goers.
