"We stayed at the house for a week with a group of 9 friends. The house itself was great! We were kindly welcomed by Jean Pierre who gave us some great tips on what to do in the area. The ruins of Donzy are nice to visit, and the hilly region is beautiful to walk through. Otherwise there is little to do for tourists in Panissières itself, it's just a regular French village. Luckily there are large cities (Lyon and Saint-Etienne) within a one hour drive. The same goes for the Beaujolais wine...

"Un séjour extraordinaire grâce au fabuleux logement. Moi qui suis pénible sur l'hygiène à chaque vacances , comme ça faisait hyper plaisir de poser nos valises dans cet appartement très propre, et qui sentait très bon. Nous avons pu nous ressourcer ,avant de poursuivre nos vacances dans le sud, dans ce logement bien calme avec des bons matelas pour un bon sommeil. De plus, l'hôte était toujours très réactive. Je commande vivement ce lieu pour tous ceux qui recherchent l'hygiène, et le calme ....

"We had a fantastic stay here in the house and used the pool a lot! A great halfway point between Calais and Nice if driving down. The house was well equipped and very comfortable. When we stayed the temperature was over 30 degs outside but it did not feel too warm inside which was helpful. The property has a huge garden with swings and a play house which was fun for the kids to use. "This old revived Mansion is magnificent, with its garden complex, Peacock & wild birds, roaming the back garden yards. It is an artistic master piece. The proprietor’s are interesting, very helpful and accommodating hosts. I would highly recommend. "

"The room was clean and comfortable. The pool area was small but clean and comfortable. Staff were helpful and friendly. The area doesn't have any public transport, but I was meeting friends who live nearby and have a car so that wasn't an issue for me. The on-site restaurant was closed over the weekend, which was unexpected and I would have like to have been informed about this before booking, but it was easy enough to order food on Uber Eats. So if was fine. "

"Its a really neat/cool place to stay for a night. The chateau is a little run down (as expected as its construction started in 1231), but that adds to its charm. The hotel room was beautiful and clean. The only issue was pink/orange mould on the bottom of the shower curtain. We also had the best meal on our Southern France trip at a nearby restaurant (Authentique restaurant)."
