"This is an excellent hotel. What happened was not the fault of the staff, but management could do more to prevent it. A fire alarm went off with sprinkler going in the back office at 12:15 am. We didn’t get the internal alarm stopped and water service returned to the rooms until 2:30 am, meantime we were wandering in the lobby in our pjs after the fire dept cleared that there was no fire. The lobby was flooding. The alarm company still hadn’t sent a technician but the fire dept came back a second time and figured out how to shut the sprinkler off so the alarm (and flooding) would stop. The young person in charge was doing his best but getting nowhere with Johnson Controls. I called their 24/7 number (staff did not have it…I found it online) and got a hybrid tech to speak with the person at the desk so he could get a ticket # for the service. The basic problem is that the hotel has an account but is not under contract. My suggestion is to have a good, short list of emergency numbers readily available for staff, and go ahead and purchase a maintenance contract with Johnson Controls. We buy contracts in our business so that we have quick, reliable service in an emergency. This is an excellent place to stay in general."
