"Wir haben eine Woche in Tarbert verbracht. Das Haus ist geräumig und sauber. Es sind 4 Bäder vorhanden, allerdings nur zwei Duschen. Die Unterkunft liegt ca.6km entfernt von Tarbert- dort findet man alles was man benötigt. Supermarkt, Restaurants und eine Apotheke. Das Haus lädt zum Verweilen ein ,wenn sie die Natur lieben,gerne lesen und die Ruhe mögen sind sie hier richtig. Ausflugsziele Empfehlungen West Port Beach, Oban, Campeltown, Isle of Arran. "Melfort was an excellent base for exploring this beautiful part of the world. The cottage was very well equipped and staff very helpful ,welcoming and dog friendly ( especially Olwynn). Good walking and stunning scenery on the doorstep. My only quibble was the fact that it isn't made very clear until after booking that electricity is charged extra ."

"Set in a beautiful location, quarry cottage was just perfect. Staff very friendly and helpful. Lovely swimming pool, games room, snooker room. Lots of lovely walks and amazing wild life. Particularly loved the bird table. Watching all the different birds coming and going all day long. Could of happily stayed forever."

"The cottage itself was lovely. A really nice chilled week, however the property just required a bit of TLC, it is just looking a bit tired and rough in some areas and the cleanliness was average to say the least. Some plates had been put away dirty and there was cobwebs in several of the rooms. The location was pretty good and it was only 30 minutes in to Glasgow and Ayr is nearby. Overall I would give a 7/10."

"We were happy to stay for the first time at Melfort Village. It had everything that we needed and we were very comfortable. The staff was so great and friendly. We will miss our morning chats with them to tell them about our previous day's exploration and getting advice on where to go next. I would highly recommend Melfort Village for your next vacation!"

"We visited for Mums birthday in March there were 4 of us plus one dog. The accommodation was lovely and comfortable and not too far from the main buildings. I visited the pool two mornings and really enjoyed the facilities. It is a great base for exploring the West of Scotland with some beautiful scenery . We had a takeaway from the restaurant and it was delicious and well worth a try."

"The setting is idyllic in lovely peaceful surroundings, nature all around. The cottage is large, airy and bright and everything you could need was provided. Although quite a distance from Oban, the main road was pretty quiet and a pleasant drive. The pool was an added bonus, but the sauna wasn't working. We were there on the hottest weekend of the year, so didn't need the sauna."

"In a week of rain we managed to find many dry days. The location of the village was outstanding with views of the loch and an abundance of birdlife ( I counted 40 species in the area in the week). Melfort has great access to the isles through Oban and the coastline along the A 816 offers opportunities for gardens (Arduaine) and loch views from Ardfern. Onsite the Shower of Herring restaurant did not disappoint and we had two excellent meals. The resort is well maintained and this is also...
