"Room was generally clean Tv didnt work. Wifi was almost non-existent. Breakfast was advertised but breakfast room was also non-existent. Sign on door said it was open but was dark and had only tools etc. Someone had left frozen fish in the freezer in the room so it had obviously not been completely cleaned.blowdryer was also supposed to be present so i didn't bring one with me and there was no blowdryer. No one was in the office at 9am to checkout. Parking lot was treacherously icy. "

"The host was very welcoming and was quick in responding to questions before and during the trip. Instructions were well laid out for the hot tub, stove, etc. Place was well-decorated, cozy and clean. We went in winter (February) so can't say anything about the beach or outdoor firepit but the roads were better maintained than the city I live in. Hot tub was awesome. Went for a couple walks, snowshoed on the lake. Quiet area. The couple neighbours we met were very friendly. Had a great time."

"Great property, amenities were above and beyond. Host failed to let us know that the key was located in a place different that what was listed, leaving our party in the icestorm for over an hour and was not able to be contacted. "

"Overall property was good. Water supply was disappointing, not only being non-drinkable but very strong odor. Lower level bedrooms were nice, but no bathrooms on the lower level. Very convenient to town, and great starting point to exploring the Kawartha. "

"We had a beautiful stay! The cottage is clean, comfortable and well situated to enjoy the lake view from your muskoka chairs on the waterfront deck. Karen and Stew are excellent hosts who have anticipated their guests' every need. We appreciated all the small touches such as coffee and snacks. The kitchen is well supplied and very functional. We were cozy and warm here during a beautiful fall weekend. And there's lots to do see and do in the surrounding area. We'll be returning."

"This was the perfect cottage getaway for our Mini Moon!! The cottage was super clean, cozy and had lots to do! We enjoyed the hottub, took the kayaks out on the river and cozied up by the fire and played games. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to cook our meals up there which was great. We brought our dog and she loved it too - lots of wooded trails nearby to take her for walks and she loved chasing all the chipmunks and frogs running around. The hosts also left us a bottle of champagne to celebrate our recent marriage which was so kind of them! This cottage also has the bonus of all the super cute decor and was very aesthetically pleasing if you’re into taking cute cottage pics! The cheetah print chair was my personal fave :) we may just have to make Hills Haven our anniversary getaway spot from now on! 2 notes for future guests - bring something with you to roast s’mores on the fire if that’s you’re plan, and the hot tub took a bit of time to get as hot as we wanted so maybe start it up a few minutes before you plan on going in. "
