The hotel is dated on the outside and in the hallways, but the rooms appear to be recently renovated. I found it odd that no conditioner was provided with the room. I appreciated the full service breakfast that was included with the room.
What really upset me with this hotel is that I paid with my Amex when checking in, then when I walked back out to the parking lot 10 minutes later the staff member asked if I would change my payment method so the hotel could save money (Amex has an incredible travel insurance policy, so I refused). For my one night stay, accepting Amex compared to Visa would have cost the property $1-2 extra. I’m all for supporting small businesses, but a hotel asking me to switch payment methods so they could save a buck really didn’t sit well with me.
Other than that, it was an average property that was affordable compared to neighbouring options, and close to Wells Gray.
