Church of St Sergius & Bacchus

The hotel is a dump, more a hostel than hotel. Walking up the stairs is very dirty, dark, large garbin bins along each corridor, locked rooms with padlocks. We left after6 hours as we came in at 1am. We lost all our money, orbits should refund me as i had to book another hotel. Orbits rebiews amd rating was inaccurate.

The Golden Palace hotel is 'golden bargain' as it's very reasonably priced and right in the center of a busy area with lots to do, but yet feels like an oasis of tranquility 😇 The staff are very friendly and helpful and even let me store a bag for a month for a modest fee. The large breakfast, served by the lovely Hebbe, is an added bonus as it's included in the price. The rooms are spacious and clean, although I think the comforter/Duvet in the room I had could do with a laundry as it had a noticeably unpleasant odor. Also, I was woken during the night by a door slamming in a neighboring room and I think this may be due to mechanical issue that needs to be addressed. I even got a free room upgrade on check in! 😀 Overall I can highly recommend this hotel in downtown Cairo ☺️

Worst place ever, from the dated facility, rooms and every corner to the inconvenience of unable to get in the room every day without getting access from the front desk to the bad sewage smell in the bathroom. Stay away from this place.
