OK...no great
The hotel is a bit dated and could use a refresh. It was not very busy so noise was not an issue. Our room was spacious and facing the river. The spa area was not as comfortable as hoped. Breakfast was minimal and lunch OK. Location is about a 20 minute walk to the bars in town.
Love these period buildings. Made very welcome from the moment we arrived. All the staff were very attentive and helpful . Our room extremely comfortable and a reasonably priced menu available over a wide span.
Would definitely make a return stay. Our thanks to all concerned.
Club One Seven ligger en 20 minutters gang fra centrum. Men intet problem!
Alt i alt anbefalelsesværdigt!
I loved it! We had limited time in Chiang Mai. We went there to visit the elephant sanctuary. We flew in the day before and checked into the hotel. We found a great restaurant nearby and relaxed at the hotel after. Diner. We spent the entire day at the sanctuary the next day, when we came back we enjoyed dinner at the hotel and hung out by the pool, socialized with other hotel/spa guests and the friendly staff. We enjoyed the bar. It was very relaxing. We left the next day, I only wish we could have stayed a little longer.
The hotel is on the Ping River, one of the reasons I chose it. There is no one central area of Chiang Mai. The Night Market is close to the Ping River, the weekend Walking Street is close to the Old City. I was always taking some form of transportation. It was much too hot to walk. The staff at the hotel happily arranged much of that for me. The hotel is about 130 years old — all teak floors and furniture. Very charming. The staff upgraded me to a bigger room. Everyone was very friendly. Big breakfast in the morning. 2 free bottles of drinking water each day. Chiang Mai, the second largest city in Thailand, has a reputation for friendliness. It is less expensive than Bangkok. The Night Market, in my opinion, has more variety than in Bangkok.
The staff here were pretty friendly and the service was fine but the rooms were small very dark basic and stains on curtains and not that clean in general.
If you are in the bar / cafe area you have to follow any theme party nights dress codes being held in the sauna which if you want to get something to eat is a bit strange shall we say!
Overall this is a sauna with a few rooms attached not a guest house with a sauna.

So-so
Mix of good and bad. Unfortunately the room had a very bad smell. Some of the staff were very kind and helpful but others were indifferent.

Club 1 7, review
Location is okay, you can walk to main city in about 30/40 minutes but easier and quicker to use Grab.
Check In was quick and was shown around the facilities before going to my room.
The room does not really look like it does in the pics! it really was in need of updating and decorated, It was tired as was I. The building is really old and it has really creaky floorboards, I was woken at 7am every morning with the noise above me. so be aware if you are downstairs. There was no hairdryer in the room and the one at reception was broken, but true to their word the staff had a new one the next day.
If you like to sunbathe the sun disappears behind the building mid afternoon (January), so get it early if this is what you want to do.
There was a good choice of food for breakfast, although the excellent coffee machine on my first day didn't work again do it was all very average filter coffee after that. If you wish dinner, they have a good choice and it is good value for money and tasty.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful which makes any stay easier. Overall though, I feel the hotel needs some updating.
I liked it was self contained with pool, sauna ( open to public and very popular ) staff was amazing helpful ( woody, Ton ) Bon’s Massages everyday were awesome !

Quirky fun place
Great place despite being a bit chaotic.
Old world charm in a 130 year old house. A few chipped tiles and signs of wear and tear but this just adds to the charm. If you want pristine, stay at a holiday inn.
Staff all very friendly but as many are new (I was told) not all 100% competent at present. I’m sure this will change.
I enjoyed my stay.
The traffic noise, in particular the high pitch noise from the tuk tuk engines made sleeping Impossible. Booked for 5 nights but compelled to leave after the 2nd night.
The hotel is excellent, but I did not find a lot of things to do in Chaing Mai. Apart from the naked night and the dark rooms, I found that the Thai people preferred their own rac in a he Sauna.
The hotel is located beautifully by the river. The grounds are relaxing and the staff are friendly. My only issue was the distance to the city center, and metered taxis are not common in Chiang Mai. Party nights are fun, and not knowing it, i was there for one. Other nights are quiet and lonely, since most people stay at the city center.

Far from everywhere!
The hotel is located in a 130 years old wooden tea house... you have no privacy... to the point that you can listen the poeple in the other room opening a bag of snacks... (wooden walls)...
the rooms are super dark... and since it's wooden built... you have plenty of ants, mosquitoes and other insects inside. Even the cicadas!!! Lovely to sleep...
besides that... the hotel is far away from the town centre... it might be 5/10 in tuk tuk, but certainly not walking distance... even the tuk tuk drivers refused to go there at night time or tried to ripped you off... for the same price, you can get better hotels una better location...
Hotel have long history inside, all the thing is good. The staff is so friendly, i love it so much. They will tell me more information for visit and call the tuk tuk to visit. Breakfast is good. Swimming pool and the view is nice. Go to night market is so clsoe, just walk around 15-20 minutes.
