Did not receive email communication as advised so had to use default code to enter. Upstairs bed is not great and bathroom door sticks badly. Just needs some basic TLC. Did not receive checkout info via email as advised either. That said, it suited the needs of our family. I’m glad it was just a one night stay.

It was a good place to stay for the night after the Food and Wine Festival. There are 4 bedrooms, 3 of which have queen/king beds, so plenty of room for guests. The location was convenient to highways, but the neighborhood is right on the border of questionable. There isn't a walkway from the back porch to the hot tub, which sits next to the garage and some spare equipment. The kitchen was well stocked and having a washer and dryer was very convenient. The upstairs bathroom is shower only and just large enough. Bring your own shower gel/doap. This is a great if you're looking for space and comfort, not upscale accommodations.

Pros: host is quick to respond; conveniently close to Charlotte Convention CenterCons: smelled like bug spray; no screens on the windows around large dining table; one ply toilet paper; grass was not cut and up to my shins; a train goes by that sounds like it is in your bedroom multiple times in the night; bug traps all over kitchen with bugs in them; garbage on the ground near garbage cans upon arrival; beds in rooms on first floor aren't actual mattresses, they are stacked foam pads; shower upstairs is incredibly small; electrical outlets are questionable, not even flat against the wall; host became very defensive when questioned about the condition of vrbo; pictures on vrbo don't accurately show property

Perfectly located

Lovely Charlotte

We stayed in Charlotte a couple days on our way to Washington DC and this was the perfect place for my family of 6. Communication with the owner was great, wonderful property, my kids asked if we could stay there again one day!

We arrived at the house at 3am the first night and left early to drive to WV and arrived back at 11:30 pm the second night and left at 9 am the next morning so we did not get a chance to enjoy the amenities but was happy was our stay

Our stay

We had a less than stellar experience. It was not as pictured and definitely not clean. Missing doorknobs, someone else’s leftovers in the microwave, and no toilet paper refills. Would not recommend.

I loved it until....

Our start at the Sweet Pea was cool overall. However, we had several moments where we didn't enjoy it. Number 1; we were uncomfortable with the number of windows that did not have either blinds or curtains. We felt like people could see in while we were relaxing in the front room. The grass in the back yard was not cut and there was dog waste in the grass. Lastly, there was pretty hair on the upstairs beds and the sofa. Causing most of us to have severe allergies. Lastly, we saw small roaches in the kitchen on the countertop and in the panty crawling on a bag of sugar, that we threw out. While we did like the house, these things took away from our stay.
