Everything was perfect and exactly as it appeared in the pictures. We felt incredibly spoiled to be staying in such an immaculate and beautiful space. The Basilica House is stunning down to every last detail. The location is amazing. Chania is so beautiful. You will be in the middle of countless amazing restaurants and cafes and shops. The bed is super comfy. We loved our stay.
Amazing location. Brilliant spot. Highly recommended . Veery clean, very comfortable and very beautiful. The host is very responsive on WhatsApp and also booked a taxi for us. Impressive. Will come again.
The hotel was in the perfect location to everything, no more than a few minutes walk until the Old Port or shopping. Check in was easy, the rooms were clean and spacious. Would come back!
Was not a hotel, but a room. Worked out nice for me, but need more space if my spouse comes next time. Was in close to the Old Port and great proximity to shopping and restaurants, but in a quiet alcove. Great location!
This was a great property right in old town where it was easy to walk around right there in the middle of everything. It was clean and beautiful.
We loved our stay and would stay again!
Wonderfully located in old town, with lots of shops restaurants and beaches all within walking distance. The room itself is well appointed, clean and has rustic charm. Being on the ground floor with limited windows and an a covered patio it should be noted there is limited natural light, otherwise a beautiful stay
The suite is gorgeous and cosy, right in the heart of Chania's winding streets. Self check-ins was easy, host was super helpful when we did need to contact him.
The rooms were clean and spacious. Our unit had two bathrooms which was great while traveling with my 8 year old son and my father. It's in the old town area but in a fairly quiet part. Tons of restaurants and shops are steps away. The harbor and lighthouse are a 10 minute walk. The only challenges we had were parking. That is clearly noted in the listing and welcome messaging from the staff so we expected this. We did find a free dirt lot less than 10 minutes away. It can be a little challenging if you have a lot of luggage to pull, but it is doable. My main disappointment was the water. The hot water ran out very quickly - less than 10 minutes. That meant splitting our showers up which was manageable but unexpected. Oh, and make sure to have 2 Euros per night in cash to leave in the unit. It's included in the total price you booked but collected by the propery directly.
Hostess Maria was super-friendly and helpful. Location is right in the old town section so food and shopping are right outside the door. If you arrive by car be prepared to walk several blocks from parking to the Aoria Estate Old Port location. Recommend renting a very small car for the narrow streets and small parallel parking spots.

Liked: Cleanliness
Disliked: Staff & service, amenities
The owner of the property was not always available for communication. Often did not even respond at all, on our last day there was no water at the property, he finally answered stating that the water had been shut down for the street for maintenance but once we left the restaurant next door was fully operational.

Beautiful property in the heart of Old Port. Comfortable beds, excellent showers, a spacious patio off the upstairs bedroom, and great air conditioning. I would highly recommend this place. (Be advised that the map directions we received did not indicate that the last segment was completely illegal for cars, walkable only, and street parking is competitive and 3-8 blocks away.)
Clean and comfortable. Close to everything in the area (restaurants, mini markets, pharmacy, etc). Quick walk to the bus terminal. Huge shower. High quality linens and pillows. Felt very safe. Would definitely stay here again!
Was a perfect room for my wife and my 2 teenage daughters. Rooms in the old port can be small and old. But this was perfect, newly renovated, good size for us. It’s conveniently located so taxis can drop you off close to the hotel so you’re not lugging your bags too far. It’s a small hotel so not a lot of amenities, but that’s not a big deal to me. Staff was very nice and helpful.
Overall, I would stay here again. There were a few things I was disappointed with on arrival however. Reception is only manned from 9am-4pm, and check in starts from 3pm which leaves only a 1hr window to check in properly. If like me you arrive after 4pm, you will not have reception to greet you and introduce you to the property. This is not a big deal as they do send detailed check in instructions with how to enter, codes, key etc, I was just surprised as everywhere else in Crete has had reception on duty. The next point is that there is no elevator (stairs only), which combined with no evening lights in the hallway seems like a potentially dangerous situation for a drunk client and at the very least an inconvenient one for anyone else.
Onto the property itself, it is in a convenient location, but my room was tiny (seemed much smaller than the photos) and did not have an outdoor area like the photos suggested. This could be my mistake, however. The place was well equipped and reasonably clean, however.. apart from a mould problem in the shower. Slight noise issues and no light blocking blinds, but I brought earplugs which helped somewhat.
Lastly, I would like to thank the receptionist who literally made my stay in Chania a very pleasant one. While I was not the most satisfied with my room, it was certainly adequate and she gave me all the best recommendations like beaches and restaurants that made my trip worthwhile. Thankyou!
Very comfortable boutique hotel. Very good shower, comfortable bed, nice sheets, pillows and comfortor. No front desk but easy online check-in. Was also upgraded to a suite. Quiet part of harbor area and very quaint. Good price - would stay again.
Beautiful room with plenty of space in the heart of Chania. Easily walkable to many great restaurants and main town area. Parking was difficult to find and one of the AC units didn’t work too well.
