About this property

Family Retreat at Lansdowne Manor

  • Historic country manor located in a private tranquil setting, surrounded by mature trees & nature. Lansdowne is on the National Register of Historic Places and is recognized by the Library of Congress as some of most perfectly preserved high-style Federal architecture remaining on the Eastern Shore.

★★★★★ review from Ashun who stayed in July 2026: "What a perfect house for our family of seven with ages ranging from 9 to 85. The house is at the end of a long private driveway in central Maryland, surrounded by farms and fields. Plenty of parking right in front on the circular driveway, and an easy few steps to get in.
A wonderful country kitchen with everything we could need, and thoughtful little things that one might need around the house. A very nice wooden table and comfortable seating made lazy brunches so relaxing. Great collection of books thoughtfully arranged throughout the house - something for everyone.
The rooms were spacious with high ceilings. A comfortable bed for each of us. We were there during the hottest days of the summer (100+ degrees) but the ACs worked perfectly, and every room in the house was comfortable.
We have stayed at so many AIrBnBs (30+) and hotels all around the world, and I can't think of one that was so thoughtfully set up, and so perfect.
And such a gracious and responsive host. Thanks Alex!"
