I loved my stay at Twin Ponds. The location was extremely private and Serene. Castleton is about 15 minutes from the nearest town, so the area is a bit isolated. For me that is a good thing. I wanted some privacy and quiet, and the area is beautiful rolling hills, mostly unpopulated. But with that said, you can drive 5 minutes up the road to the Laurel Mills General Store, and they have most basics available to you in terms of food and other supplies. If you want a restaurant or a bigger store, it's about a 15 minute drive to one of the nearby towns.
The house itself is spacious and comfortable. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms where occupants can sleep comfortably and privately. Very large kitchen which is well appointed. I did not do any cooking, but everything you need for meal preparation is there. Some people have commented that the internet and TV service can be a little spotty in bad weather. The weather was good when I was there, so I did not experience that. The internet and television were fine. The living room / TV area has a excellent big screen TV for those who want to relax and watch some TV programming or stream netflix, Etc.
The check in and check out were very easy. On the way in you have to stop by the main office and pick up the key. But that only took a minute, and the office is only about half a mile from the house. All in all, I enjoyed my stay and I would not hesitate to stay there again
