"Our party of 8 travelers enjoyed our stay at this home. Philippe is a great host, and the property is lovely. We enjoyed the spacious rooms and modern amenities. We hired a private chef to prepare our dinners, and he found the kitchen fine for his needs, and he was able to access the property while we were gone with no issues. "We had a very good 2 night stay at Le Grand Hôtel de l'Espérance in Lisieux. The room was basic but very clean and practical. They still provided a kettle and tea and coffee. A mini fridge would have been nice though. The bathroom had shower only but it had a good amount of storage space. We had one dinner in their restaurant which was good and good value for money. The service was good and efficient, even though the restaurant was full and only one person serving. The breakfast was excellent. They had 2 Camembert style cheeses, Emmental, spicy sausages as the hot option, hard boiled eggs, good quality cold cooked ham, good grilled ham, yoghurt, croissants, 2 types of homemade cake, fruit salad, and one of the best apple pies we have ever eaten. The selection was constantly replenished. The people at the reception very friendly and professional. If we were to visit Lisieux again, we would stay there again."
