Great weekend in Carthage
"It was warm in the room when we arrived but it did cool down by bed time. There were no cups in the room but I was able to get them from the front desk. The only other issue is lighting. I am legally blind and the canister lighting, though stylish, is not sufficient. That isn’t anyone’s fault but ..."

A decent stay
"Internet access was poor to none. There were bugs in the ice in the ice machine. The cold water out of the tap never got colder than tepid. Otherwise, all was good and clean. Outside noise level was surprisingly quiet in spite of our room being on the truck stop side."

"This is a cozy quaint little cottage. It was the perfect getaway and the perfect place to stay. The inside of the property is maintained very well. My only disappointment was there was not water in the pond. We will definitely stay here again."

Carthage is a fine town. Having being born here and raised here, I am somewhat biased but it has a lot going on for it. It has excellent schools, Texas Country Music Hall of Fame and with nearby Shreveport, it's in striking distance of casinos.

Carthage is a sleepy little town with very little to do. However, there are a few good restaurants, and if you like the outdoors and/or fishing, it's a great place to stay.
