"My husband and I had a great stay at Victory Villa. The room as recently renovated, comfortable, and very clean. The host who met us was very friend and informative. He communicated directly and what to expect when driving to Victory Villa. The road getting up there isn't great, but totally doable in a car whether day or night. For someone with major passenger anxiety, I didn't particularly enjoy the drive. However, it was well worth it once we reached."

"We recently stayed at this resort as a large group with four rooms booked. On a high note, the staff were incredibly friendly throughout our stay, and the beach is absolutely stunning.
However, our experience was mixed. We arrived at 11:00 AM, and our rooms weren't ready until 4:00 PM, which made for a very long wait. Once we settled in, we encountered several maintenance issues: one room had persistent AC problems, and another had a complete power failure.
While the resort is visually stunning, clean, and modern, the attention to detail in the upkeep is lacking. Several door frames were already showing significant wear, suggesting that routine maintenance needs to be a higher priority.
Regarding dining, the food was generally average, though our favorite turned out to be the French restaurant. Overall, the resort has great potential, but it needs better room maintenance and a more focused approach to service for arriving guests."
"We had a wonderful time at this resort. Everything was clean, and you could always see staff cleaning around the resort. The food was delicious and refilled quickly. Staff was friendly and quick. We have two little ones, so we spent most of our time at the kids pool or the beach. They also loved the kids show at night. Our room was very quiet, and we got a crib for our 12-month old. "
"My husband and I first stayed at the Royal for our honeymoon in 2021 (a year after our wedding due to COVID), and we absolutely loved our experience. We recently returned in 2026 to celebrate our 6th wedding anniversary and even brought along some family members for their first visit. Between 2021 and this most recent trip, I recommended the Royal to just about everyone I knew I truly couldn’t say enough good things about it.
Unfortunately, this visit left me feeling disappointed.
While I understand that prices have increased, with VAT and gratuity now added to everything, I was more than willing to pay based on the exceptional experience and hospitality we previously received. However, I did notice a significant decline in service compared to our first stay.
Throughout our time there whether leaving our room, grabbing coffee, enjoying lunch by the pool or beach, or dining in the restaurants the staff did not seem as welcoming or engaged. In the past, what stood out most was how kind, soft-spoken, and genuinely warm the employees were. They made an effort to connect with guests and truly understood that we were there to relax and escape from our daily lives. This time, that feeling was largely missing.
Additionally, the ongoing construction made it difficult to fully relax in our room during the day, which took away from the overall experience.
The past few years have been especially challenging for my husband and me, and we were really hoping this trip would provide a much n"
Lopesan Costa Bávaro Resort Spa & Casino - All Inclusive
4/10 Poor
"While the property itself is absolutely beautiful, our overall experience was disappointing due to several issues.
The grounds, pools, and overall aesthetic of the resort are truly stunning and well-maintained. It’s clear that a lot of effort has gone into creating a visually appealing environment.
Unfortunately, our room had multiple problems that significantly impacted our stay. The most concerning was the door lock — it would not lock properly, meaning anyone could open it without a key. We had to wait over an hour for assistance, and even after someone came to “fix” it, the issue was not fully resolved as we still couldn’t lock the door from the inside. This raised serious safety concerns. Additionally, the water pressure was very low, and the back door would not close all the way, which added to the frustration.
What stood out the most — and ultimately affected our experience the most — was the service and food. Compared to many other resorts we’ve stayed at, the level of hospitality here was extremely disappointing. Much of the staff seemed unwilling to take initiative, showed little effort to understand or resolve concerns, and overall came across as unfriendly — especially toward families with children. Traveling with kids, this made a noticeable difference in how comfortable and welcomed we felt."

10/10 Excellent
"Everything was amazing. It was my second time staying here. It was my best friend’s 50th birthday. And they decorated the door, sang to her and made her feel special. Staff friendly nice and helpful. Everything clean and drinks amazing!! We will be back!"
"I did not like the bathroom, i think it needs an upgrade, i hated the shower. The room was nice tho and the resort was beautiful just a bit too quiet."
