Perfect location

Perfect location for a night out. Lovely size apartment. Very clean. Only negatives being a few missing lightbulbs and one sofa leather was tired and worn. Regardless of that would definitely book again.

AVOID!!!!

shabby rundown place which we left after just one night , having paid for 5! No hot water , broken bed, no light in bathroom, mould in shower , incredibly stained white sofa ( covered up with a blanket) etc.. Brrrr.., don’t even want to think about it any more .., 👎👎👎👎

I thought the used condom under the bed was uniquely disgusting. As was the £25 cleaning fee charged on top of the price. The place is grubby and one has to walk through a bad neighborhood if you come from Central Station. Navis will take you down Bute street which has a number of shelters and homeless on the streets. Walking in I saw 2 drug deals go down in broad daylight and then a stabbing! yes a stabbing at the Christina steet projects shut down the entire area with police. Apparently that is a known drug dealing area. Lastly, and best of all, the room is located directly across from an elderly shelter. Fine but the staff come out every two hours for a smoke break all night and talk loudly. You cant open a window. And I was there during a heat wave. It all ended with deliveries at 6.30am on metal carts over cobblestones. It was the worst place I have EVER stayed in. I woudl avoid this grubby hole at all costs. Oh - and the beds are of dismal quality. Thin mattresses. It was so bad it was actually funny. It is clearly only good for a flop house for people in town for rugby who are too pissed to care.

Never Again. Terrible Experience

Booked online and enquired if Lift?Elevator available. Did not know so wait for Property Manager to contact. On contact, found out that no lift available. Told him about my COPD, Breathing difficulties, Diabetes, and difficulty in climbing stairs. Assured that apartment will be on first floor with hardly 8 steps. Received text with info about entry to apartment, but said 2nd floor. Contacted again and received re-assurance text that it should read 1st floor, On arrival, contacted cleaner as found out that apartment was on 2nd floor, with more than 32 steps. Told SORRY, nothing else available. Parking Bay not marked so had to wait to find out. (Asked a resident there but he told me that these are private apartments and cannot be rented out???). Anyway, reached the top, after a few stops. Checked out the facilities. Found out the following, considering that this is CLAIMED/advertised as 4 star accommodation: 1. Although we had booked for 5 people, ONLY 3 forks and no serving dishes 2. 4 Pillows and 2 Duvets 3. Toilet flush tank not filling up. ( Complained a few times but not repaired till we left) 4. Shower holder broken so shower hanging down. ( Complained a few times but not repaired till we left) 5. The bedroom blinds were broken. Got them fixed but then kept falling down every time used. ( Complained a few times but not repaired till we left) 6. The Lounge blinds kept falling down. ( Complained a few times but not repaired till we left) 7. Large Flat screen TV shown online, but only found a small ALBA TV, without remote, so could be used. Complained. Received a remote After 3 days. 8. Was told that fans will be available but none found. Complained. Got fans after 4 days. 9. The cleaner lady arrived on Saturday expecting us to leave, but we had bookings till Sunday. When we arrived the first day, she did not know about our booking either. 10. No cleaning done by anybody all the week. We cleaned it ourselves and left the apartment absolutely clean. DESPITE THAT, WHEN WE RECEIVED OUR SECURITY DEPOSIT BACK, we still had to pay CLEANING CHARGE???????? NOW FOR THE SERVICE; (A JOKE) Complaints had to be made several times, both to the Property Manager and the Cleaner, by phone and text. Not once the phone was answered, and always had to leave a message, but unfortunately, with NO RESPONSE to either of the communication. Overall, extremely disappointed, and a very bad experience for all the money we paid. NEVER AGAIN.

These people are cheats, the price advertised on Expedia is clearly wrong. The owner will cut £25 from your deposit as a hidden “cleaning fee” which is not mentioned anywhere when making the booking. To me that’s unlawful competition as people are misled into thinking they are booking the cheapest apartment around. I’m greatly disappointed.

Mermaid Bay Apartment 7

Unable to get any information up to 24hrs before our stay. Asked to pay £200 deposit of which £25 was to be kept for cleaning. The place was stinking dirty. Disgusting!! Had to clean ourselves. Hole in wall of bathroom, bathroom amenities were filthy. Blind in main bedroom broken and didn’t fit. Took over a week to my deposit back. And to top it off I was told where to park by owner and was given a parking fine which the owner told me he would sort out but to date has not. Will be taking it further. Do not bother. Not worth the money, total con. The pictures show it all.

Misleading advertisement

I booked apartment and arrived with no access to start with or email. I then had to chase up and then submit a deposit of £200 which I was not aware off. I did this expecting to receive this back as stated in 24 hrs. I'm now being told I had a cleaning charge of 25 quid which is poor as most places of rent it's included. I arrived late used the shower went to bed and left. No utensils used at all. I also had to chase up the refund...what kind of system hace we got here that the customer has to do all the chasing to deposit and refund.when arriving g in property the bathroom had been used and toilet not flushed which us awful considering I now see you're charging me a cleaning charge. Very poor professionalism and needs to he included in initial charge and set up better. I will not use again, and also as previous customer had said the room was co.pletly different to one on the pics

Not the same flat as the one advertised

Completely false advertisement, not an up market flat at all. Food and spit up the wall, no WiFi, tv didn’t work, two broken double beds (not the king advertised) and a broken sofa, the kitchen equipment has never been cleaned properly we ended up eating out every night. Adam completely lies and blamed it on a previous tenant. I promised to rebook just to get my deposit back, avoid at all costs.

Local Area - hostel nearby - industrial estate nearby + 10 minute walk to city centre + 15 minute walk to Cardiff Bay + police station nearby + shop nearby + cash point nearby Condition - loose unit in lounge - broken slat on lounge blind - tatty corner sofa in lounge - loose smoke detector in kitchen - some blinds missing rods - some lightbulbs missing in rooms + new two seater sofa in lounge + everything else in good condition Comfort + comfortable beds + comfortable two seater sofa Cleanliness - unclean ensuite shower cubicle - unclean bedroom mirrors - cup rings on dining table - cup rings on bedside table - damp wooden chopping board + everything else looked clean Service - no face to face contact - all contact done over phone - calls sometimes not answered - no pass for private car park - told to contact cleaner ourselves - had to pay a cleaning fee + free parking on main road nearby + responded to texts/missed calls + deposit returned promptly Overall - strange smell in boiler cupboard - old fashioned hot water system - unclear heating system + reasonably priced apartment

Avoid avoid avoid

Okay so firstly this is not a hotel or corporate apartment but what appears to be someone’s flat that they let out. There were two TVs in the lounge on the wall, one of which did not work. The leather sofa was old and clearly past it! The worst thing though was to do with parking - it was meant to be free !! But only if the owner had left permit ! He didn’t and lied about it. We had to drive round the barrier too as code didn’t work. Now have £65 fine and had to park off site second night.

The location of the property was extremely handy as it was close to Cardiff Bay and also the city centre. Both less than a mile away. The owner was very helpful and was quick to respond to my texts. The apartment was also easily accessible and secure. Would use it again. Thanks.

Great Apartment

Booked this apartment as an alternative to a 3 night business stay in a hotel. It’s a lovely big flat with lots of space. Well appointed with tv, WiFi facilities. Two bathrooms, one with a bath. Kitchen & lounge area a little worn but really comfortable. Overall cleanliness is good. Comfy stay & excellent value for money!

Discusting dont bother

Apartment was pretty big but hadnt been cleaned, cutlery, plates etc were dirty, things were broken, ie drawer inside freezer, Microwave, pots and pans were also dirty, dishwasher was minging it stunk and the filter had not been cleaned out, main bathroom toilet was dirty and towel heater hanging off the wall, there were no blinds in the living room, windows were dirty, Onsuite bathroom shower unit had black mould at the bottom and shower holder was broken, not much bedding, matress looked like a mattress topper and was really uncomfy and drawers in bedrooms were dirty, broken curtain poles etc were found in the wardrobes, basically it was descusting and the still took £25 deposit out of my £200 deposit that i had to give for the key and damages. Angry is an understatement, Stevie Wonder could have done a better job

Very nice spacious flat

When all the hotel rooms were occupied during the peak of August, I found this perfect apartment for my family, two adults + two children, at a very good price, a very clean place, located in a residential area, with a free parking, a lot of tranquility, perfect for rest after a busy schedule to visit the wonderful Wales. Highly recommended !
