"We received great instructions from Amina on how to access the room which were easy to follow. If arriving in the day, the ground floor is where a lovely flower shop is, then up a lift. There are then 9 easy steps down to where the room is located. This was our 4th stop on our trip and by far the best room. "We were in one of the other wings so it wasn't in the main building. It was a rainy week and we had a wedding and there were no rooms in the main building to accommodate us. There is no overhead so you will get wet and there are a million stairs to get to that wing (you will need help if you have a ton of luggage as well). The hotel is far from city center too, you need to plan your cabs out accordingly."

"We really enjoyed our stay at Il Chiostro del Carmine. The hotel is definitely a little older, but that was part of the charm for us. Staying inside a former monastery gave the property so much character and made it feel completely different from a typical hotel. The location was also excellent. It sits just outside the busiest part of Siena, but we were still within about a 10-minute walk of pretty much everything we wanted to see or do. The atmosphere was peaceful, the setting was unique, and it fit Siena perfectly. If you prefer hotels with history and character over ultra-modern ones, this is a great place to stay."

"We loved our stay at the Palezzetto Rosso in Seina. The building dates back to medieval times, mostly brick and stone, so travelers will definitely get the historic feel. The rooms, however, have very modern design features. The main feature of the room in which we stayed was a glass enclosed shower and sink area in the center of the room. As long as privacy is not a concern, this is not a problem. The toilet is in a different room that you access by exiting the shower/sink area, walking around the bed, and then entering the toilet. It is definitely an interesting design feature. The problem we did have with the shower/sink area is that there were no lights inside - to use this area you had to turn lights on for the whole room, which could disturb someone still sleeping. Also, there were no cabinets or shelves in the sink area since it was all glass, and the only mirror was a small portable one on the slim counter. It made shaving a little difficult. Despite these minor quirks, we loved the place. The lobby area was open all the way to the top of the building and the decorations retained the historic feel of the palace. Breakfast was served in this area, and they also had liquors available for after hours - guests paid using an honor system. All the staff members we encountered were outstanding and attentive to all of our needs, from calling taxis to arranging activities. We definitely would stay here again."
