We have been coming to PKs for a few years now. It is safe to say that the area has become a lot busier in these COVID times. Unfortunately - PKs had been closed for a spell and had just re-opened. This meant the pool wasn't finished or usable. They had also got rid of all the plants in that area - which changed the space a lot. I think they were short staffed and needed a new cook when we were there. The new cook didn't seem to be handling things very well. I am sure with time the place will become as good as it was again.

A Slice of the 50's with a 2019 price tag
Facilities Very Basic, a little overpriced for what you get, but really all you need.
Great location and tropical setting very tidy as was the bar etc but the place is now getting pretty shabby. Rooms rusty, bathrooms dripping and the pool closed and broken.

Loved this property. Nestled in the rainforest but still had great amenities. Positive, fun vibe. Mix of people including young adults, families, and couples. Great food. Highly recommend.
We stayed in a twin room. It was pretty decent, air con worked well, as did the shower etc. The bar was pretty cool but we ate food elsewhere at Whet down the road which was great.
Perefect getaway spot, offers good value for money, does have everything you need on the site: kitchen, laundry, bath cabins, bar, etc. Beach is around the corner. Keep coming back every time I'm in Cape Tribulation.

Stay in the Rainforest
The stay was fine, the shared facilities are more like camping than a hostel but given it is a campsite I’m not surprised. Some staff were friendly, others not so much but it is in a beautiful setting and you are truly in the rainforest

Good location. Basic room
Good location to do all activities in Cape Tribulation. You get what they offered on the website. Basic room with ensuite, no free wifi but they offer it in case you want to pay. Good service at check-in and check-out
The curtain in the shower was very short, hence the water splashed on the bathroom floor and the towel on the floor got wet.
I had grillled barramundi with chips in the resturant for dinner. The fish was not grilled and not tasty.

God base for oplevelse af Daintree
Værelser meget ringe stand, men er også lowbudget. Dog ikke særlig rene. Pool kold og ikke renset. Køkken nedslidt og dårligt vedligeholdt.
God restaurant. Flink personale.
We stayed there 5 days. Location was beautiful.
Staff was not very helpful as we have just arrived that day and were 10 minutes late for dinner, not realising the cut off time. They did not want to do anything to help us out to get something to eat, even though the kitchen staff were still there.
Mattress was fairly hard, room had no basic amenities like kettle or any storage for our clothes.
The owner on the other hand was great and very accommodating. Our reservation clerk on the day or arrival was great and moved us to a room where aircon worked properly.
One of the staff was very helpful with information on local walks and tracks.
Overall, mixed feelings about our stay. In the end we improvised and had great time. Would definitely be back to visit the area.
It was to stay in this beautiful place, great location and lovely atmosphere!
A bit noisy the night if you are tired but everything was perfect

Pretty good as far as hostels go
We enjoyed our stay at PKs Jungle Village. The facilities were pretty good and clean as far as hostels go and staff were friendly. Considering that you are in the middle of the forest, the food at the restaurant was good and reasonably priced.
We left early as the management were unprofessional, rude and arguementative. If you want to enjoy your stay in the Daintree I suggest you stay elsewhere.
Shabby venue with very poor service. Overpriced. Very basic 'pub' food (poorly made burgers, fish and chips etc). Had to pay extra for wi-fi that didn't reach my room. No option to adjust air-con. Thin walls so kept awake by neighbours' kids. No chair, table or storage in room. For $150 :-(
Young helpful crew crew running what is clearly targeted at backpackers. Good pizza and breakfast. Great small pool and short walk to beautiful beach. Would have liked to have known a 'shared bathroom' is actually a communal shower/toilet block for many of the units.

Much improved since last year
read many bad reviews of new owner. Does not allow you to bring alcohol from outside and will kick you out if caught. Stupid rule since it discourages drinkers. Very few customers at his bar as a result.
However, the the owner was not around and the new staff is A++. Especially the girls at the front desk.
And I received a free upgrade because my room was not as advertised on my booking.
Property well kept and great area for exploring rainforest.
It's been 19 years since I last stayed here so I know it's budget accommodation. I paid for one of there best rooms, so you would think you would get a decent bed and bathroom. The bathroom looks and feels like it has been taken out of a old caravan, the taps dripped and when they got the maintenance man in he managed to break the hot water tap on the sink. The bed was as hard as nails. There are no hooks or anything to hang clothes on, there is no tea or coffee provide. The baby in the room next door woke me up at 2:30am, then the rats in the roof woke me up at 5:30am.
We had a family suite (sleeps 4) with ensuite. The QS bed was so hard, one could have chopped wood on it. I had a very interrupted night's sleep, waking frequently due to discomfort. The single bunk beds were more comfortable, but the ceiling fan was in close proximity to the top bunk and I kept fearing that one of our teenage girls would end up decapitated by it. Happily there was an air conditioner in the room, so I kept turning the ceiling fan off (but someone kept turning it back on). The water pressure in the shower in our ensuite was poor, so we preferred to shower in the communal showers. The bistro was great. I loved the music and atmosphere there at night. Laundry facilities were good. The girls were terrified of the large spiders that had built webs on the outside of a number of buildings and they wanted to leave PKs and Cape Tribulation from the moment they arrived. The paths and thoroughfares were all free of spiders. All sleeping and showering areas were painted white, which was good when concern with spiders was an issue. I loved the rainforest grounds. It was truly a stay in the jungle.
Overpriced tiny family room with little facilities
Paid $180 for a tiny family room with rock hard mattresses and little facilities.
Would expect this sort of accomodation if I was working on a cattle station.
Too many rules and regulations in the resort.
Great location, great price... however budget means budget - the mattresses hurt! The milk is full cream UHT (so be prepared) and sadly they run electricity on generators so on our final night at PK's Bar when we were really enjoying ourselves, they closed at 9:30pm because it wasn't worth staying open
This would have to be the worst experience I have encountered in my life. Treated like a 3rd class citizen from the beginning. This trip was for a 30th birthday. Told my personal alcohol wasn't permitted in my room and I had to leave it behind, on arrival no mention from either party to this rule. The room was backed on to another room which on night one had small children, whom then vacated and night two the staff put another group with small children. This was a Friday/Saturday night I add. The Friday night we were told by management we were not to make any noise at all from 10pm and on Saturday this was the case from 9pm. We were told no music was permitted in our room even though across the road some 10 meters campers were allowed music. This irked me as I have brought my own system up for the occasion which was rendered pointless. The food was embarrassing, paper thin attempted T-bone missing the T, simply became a piece of meat with a bone on the end. Ordered sauce, none arrived when questioned the waitress didn't charge for it and it would have been a 5 minute wait so no point...
