"We were scheduled to spend one night. Weather stranded us in Westport for an extra two nights as all roads to the east side of the South Island were closed. Charles, Jackie and Fran treated us like family making us feel at home. It was a memorable stay in a very nicely restored house of a bygone era with an impressive collection of art and artifacts. "

"Fantastic stay, everything that was needed was supplied. So nice and clean. View was amazing. Highly recommend. "

"In the cover photo is looks like the hut is secluded, but the owners house is just out of the image. No problem for me, but people that were seeking seclusion may not realize this.In the kitchen I couldn't wash some of the dishes easily because of the dish brush. I suggest putting in a brush with a long handle. I could clean the bottom of the coffee cup for example. Otherwise this place would get a 5 star cleaning rating.The place is overall fantastic. It has charm, its presentation was immaculate, and it was beyond cosy. I would hope to stay again."

"Ask for a roll inshower for my wife at check-in and it was provided with no problems. Front desk bent over backwards to help us. We would definitely stay here again"
