The main issue there for me is the AC. It’s turned off every 4 to 6 pm. And i think it would have been best to make the customers aware of that prior to booking. Besides that, everyone was helpful, knowledgeable and they made you feel like HOME. I would totally go back and recommend it to others.

The staff were pretty good on service but the property itself is a big no. Very old. No WiFi for over a day, power was in and off. Pool was dirty and 12ft deep mostly so you couldn’t even enjoy the pool. Anyone can get in the hotel so that was a safety concern for me.

No electricity, no wifi, no hot water. It took the general manager over 24 hours to give us a wifi code that gave out every 5 minutes and basically didn’t work. When we tried to speak to her about leaving and tell her about our issues, she basically disappeared. We asked for her all day and they kept saying she’s coming. Eventually we left and nothing was resolved.

It’s old but the service is good , but no electricity 24/24, it’s clean , the food and drinks are good !

Peaceful
Great view. Very peaceful. The restaurant on the property has delicious food. The only problem was the television didn’t work. I asked someone to fix it but nobody ever seemed like they understood. WiFi was excellent and made up for.

I didn't like anything , they give me a room i didn't like but after complain they changed it and i didn't have prob with. But it was my first and my last too. No swimming pool, no hot water in the bathroom, no conditionner air . Bad trip for me

after check out, I went to do some errands and when I returned and open my room I found another client in my room. and when I went to the reception they claimed that since I did not left any luggage they switch my room to another client. but me having my room's key, they did that... My original room was ocean view and now I left with no ocean's view room.

We apologize for this confusion. Since you did check out and not leave any luggages it was assumed that you would not return therefore the room became available and vacant.Many clients forget to return the keys and the hotel provide a copy to the new guest. Again we are very sorry for that misunderstanding. Thank you

My stay was wonderful, I was surprised by the comfort all together, the view to the ocean, the architecture, and the proximity to town was what I wished for. I would book again.

We have stayed at the Mont Joli many times and always enjoy our stay. Our only concern is that the road at the bottom of the hill seems to deteriorate more each time we come to stay. This time our taxi was unable to make it up the hill and we had to walk to the top with all our luggage. I know this is not the case with all vehicles that climb that hill because the taxi that picked us up and took us to the airport was able to make it without any issues. I don't know what if anything that can be done about the road.

Nothing like in the pictures, needs better upkeep, needed people at the front desk to speak English, not only French guess comes to the hotel.

General manager and staff were very friendly. Food was delicious and appropriately priced. It has a beautiful view with nice swimming pool. 24 hour security is provided.

Pros: Nice spacious room, friendly staff, clean property, nice breakfast, beautiful cozy little hotel. Cons: Renovations needed in courtyard, roof, gutters, and eave. Pool was a bit green. Plumbing was recently upgraded, but shower head needs to be replaced (room 42). Expensive a la carte menu for food and alcohol.

Had an awesome time in Cap Haitian. The Mont Joli is a refuge in a busy city. Lovely view, great staff, clean rooms and best of all the refreshing pool. They have improved on their restaurant menu offering more authentic Haitian dishes.

Entire staff was excellent. Supurb hill top ocean view. Beautiful local art throughout the common areas. Good value.

Mont Joli has a beautiful view of Cap Haitien
There is rolling electricity so you have to get used to that but it's overall clean and beautiful! The staff is very accommodating. There are no elevators and the rooms are spread out so you have to be willing to walk a bit or if handicapped get a room near ground level.

Not worth the money.
1st I wanted to change my reservation because of the election problems going in Haiti, they refused to grant me the change and had me pay an extra day just to change my reservation. Once I arrived, they didn't welcome us with complimentary drinks ( like stated online) - that's was a turn off to me as it is false advertisement. 2nd the first room they had us, the AC wasn't working so they put us in a different room. 3rd one of the bed from the new room had holes. 4th the pool was dirty and was not working. Huge disappointment. 5th for being the most expensive hotel in Haut Cap Haitien, they could have done better with updating the rooms, the bathroom and facility. And have a working swimming pool. 6th the employees were very friendly. 7th I think should get a refund.
