  • The house 'Sun and Moon', is located in the West of Madeira Island, in a pleasant area Arco da Calheta. Between the Mountain and the sea, with a frontosa landscape, has private garage, gardens with private pool and equipped barbeque. Inside it has 2 bedrooms with private bathroom, air conditioning in the rooms with balcony to the outside equipped with bed linen and bath towels has central heating with wood burning and dining room has wall heating. On the 1st Floor a nice terrace. Wi-Fi, local cable V. MEO. We have a game table with games available.
    Heated pool from November to April. The accommodation is equipped with bed linen and bath so that your stay and choice is unforgettable. Children are the responsibility of the Parents.

Beautiful house, environment and host

We loved our stay at Cristina's amazing house. The location was beautiful, with a spotless kitchen, garden, pool and moreover gorgeous views of the ocean and Calheta. Cristina was above and beyond an incredible host. She was so generous with food, supporting us when our luggage was lost and overall a beautiful person.

We had a wonderful stay here for our very first visit to Madeira. We were greeted by the hosts who went through everything with us in detail. We were supplied fire wood and a supply to get us started of milk, bread, cheese, ham and fruit as well as a delicious cake and wine. Unfortunately the weather was not in our favour but it didn’t stop us enjoying the beautiful property and the kids still got to enjoy the pool a couple of days. I would have no hesitation giving this property a 10/10.

Best on Madeira, if not the world at large.

A near four months of idyllic and restful stay in an incredible rich biotic plant and shrub diversified, swimming pool supported, large garden, and superb personally designed comfortable fully functional interior. Our very positive response here is founded on stays (visits) in excess of one month each in rentals and residences in 18 countries across the world, on a total of five continents.

Lovely holiday villa

Cristina is an exceptional host - having an evening meal prepared on arrival was a really thoughtful touch and much appreciated. The villa is charming, very well appointed and exactly as advertised - the view is stunning. We’ll particularly miss our morning coffee on the upstairs terrace in the sun! ☀️

Ein perfekter Urlaub in einer wunderschönen Unterkunft

We have from April 11th. until April 18, 2024 spent a vacation in Madeira in Cristina's beautiful house. We felt very comfortable there for two reasons: First: The house is 100% as shown in the pictures. Everything you need is in the house. The kitchen is fully equipped. The beds are super comfortable. What needs to be particularly emphasized is the cleanliness of the entire house. The geographical orientation of the house is perfect for a holiday, as you have sun in the garden, by the pool and on the terrace from around 9:30 in the morning until 8:00 p.m. The pool is heated as described. It almost goes without saying that the garden is also extremely beautiful and well-kept. The whole house has a great view of the village of Arco de Calheta and the sea, but what topped it all for us is the huge terrace. The view from here took our breath away. The terrace is equipped with a comfortable sofa, two sun loungers and a dining table for 4 people. There is an awning above the table to provide shade if needed. The second reason why we felt so comfortable is the host Cristina. As described in the other reviews, we were also greeted with a home-cooked meal. In between there was cake and chocolate. But from our point of view, it is particularly worth mentioning that Cristina is an incredibly nice, polite, empathetic and very kind person. The home was absolutely beautiful with the most amazing views. Sandra's hospitality was wonderful! We had a spectacular stay. The amenities were perfect. We recommend you rent a car however. This will allow you to go back and forth to town as needed. We didn't rent a car but were easily able to get Bolt to pick us up. We wish the weather were better so we could have take advantage of the pool.

Perfect house and garden! Superb hospitality by the owner, Cristina, who surprised us with a an excellent lunch on the day of arrival and a well prepared dinner during the week. Never experienced this earlier. We felt welcome and at home from the first moment we arrived.

Het huis was nog veel mooier dan wij verwacht hadden! Heel vriendelijk ontvangen door Sandra. Fijn contact tijdens het verblijf gehad via een whatsapp groep. Bij aankomst lag er iets lekkers klaar, ook voor de kinderen. Keuken is ruim uitgerust, alles was schoon. Heel veel ruimte en mooi uitzicht! In de ochtend lekker wakker worden in de tuin met verse geuren van de bloemen en uitzicht op zee. Wij hebben echt genoten. Fijne ligging. Rustige straat. Dorpje Calheta is erg gezellig.

Das Haus ist sehr geschmackvoll und hochwertig eingerichtet. In der Küche ist alles vorhanden was man benötigt.Das Haus liegt an einem Hang und hat Sonne von morgens bis abends mit wunderbarem Blick auf das Meer.Sarah und Dora waren jederzeit für uns erreichbar.Sie haben uns am ersten Abend sehr freundlich begrüßt und uns ein leckeres Abendessen gekocht. Nochmals herzlichen Dank dafür.

Wie bereits von anderen Gästen erwähnt, war der Empfang toll und wir wurden wir mit einem tollen Essen empfangen. Wenn man erst 18 Uhr ankommt ist es toll nicht erst einkaufen zu müssen.Das Haus ist riesig und wunderschön eingerichtet. Es gab allein 3 verschiedene Outdoor Sitzgelegenheiten. Es war unüblich kühl in Madeira, aber der Kamin und die AC Einheit im Schlafzimmer haben die Zimmer angenehm warm gehalten. Das Outdoor BBQ Haus haben wir geliebt und leckeren Fisch/Espetada gegrillt und beim Essen die tolle Assicht/Sonnenuntergang genossen. Der BBQ Grill zieht super (Kohle und Holz sind vorhanden) und die Austattung von der Küche und BBQ Bereich ist herausragend (inkl. Gewürze).Wie geschrieben war es für Madeira sehr kühl (18 Grad), aber den Pool konnten wir dennoch jeden Tag geniesen. Einfach großartig.Ganz toll war auch das Bett im Hauptschlaffzimmer, denn die Matratze war richtig angenehm. Das ist leider nicht selbstverständlich in Madeira.Von daher ein rundum toller Urlaub. Wir kommen wieder.

Es war einfach nur fantastisch!! Das Haus ist sehr groß, der Garten schön gepflegt und der Pool perfekt. Die ruhige Lage hat uns auch sehr gefallen.
