  • Play for me. Situated in the lovely town of Caldas da Rainha, the D. Carlos I park is a gorgeous 19th century romantic garden situated in the historic centre of the town. This refreshing green area used to work as a complement of the important Thermal Hospital that named the town of Caldas da Rainha (“Queen‘s Baths“). During the 15th century the Queen Dona Leonor, wife of king Manuel the 1st, tried the therapeutic waters of Caldas da Rainha and a long lasting wound was at last cured, after many other treatments and medicines that did not work out. As the Queen realised the excellent characteristics of the waters, she ordered the construction of a thermal Hospital in 1485. The location started developing around this central Hospital

Our experience at the Silverside hotel was very relaxing and it was just perfect after a week in Porto. There was rain from beginning to end of our 4 day adventure, but loved to come back at this hotel to relax and unwind and mostly heat-up! Thank you Loren o for all you special attention!!

Great place with welcoming staff

Great place to relax and enjoy scenery. We stayed here twice, one on our way up to Porto and one on our way down. In both stays we have welcomed by great staff and found new, clean and convenient room on our arrival. Breakfast was good. Pool was great. I highly recommend this place for anyone. Wish we could stay longer.

Nice but needs better ventilation/AC

This is not a hotel but a small property renting out hotel-like rooms on the first floor and holiday apartments on the second. We stayed on the first floor. It was clean, spacious, and the pool was lovely. The manager, Sonia, was very pleasant and helpful. There were only two issues...the small one was that we could have used more towels as we had to use the same towel for the pool and our showers. (We traveled by plane from the US so of course could not pack our own pool towels.) This is easily fixable. The second is more of a challenge. The first floor does not have air conditioning, just a blower. (We were under the impression that the upper floor apartments have true air conditioning.) The sliding glass door could be opened in a secure fashion for additional ventilation but it was not enough and it was very stuffy in the room as we slept. We woke up at 3 am and opened the sliding glass wide enough to get the proper ventilation in the room but of course there is a security risk to this. And this was in October. I can't imagine staying there in July or August or even September without true air conditioning. Hoping that the property owners are able to upgrade because this is a nice place overeall.

Just perfect, would love to stay longer

We had a really nice and relaxing stay at the Silverline accomodation. The welcome was very warm and we received a lot of recommendations and information about the region and for our upcoming days. The host was very kind and did everything for a nice stay. The pool was clean and refreshing and easily accessible directly from the terrasse of the room. For breakfast, there was coffee, juice, bread, croissants and various toppings available. Not to forget to mention the really fair prices for the drinks in the minibar (bottle of wine 5 €). In total we would really recommend to stay at Silverline, we enjoyed it very much, hopefully we come back one day. Thanks a lot for the efforts to make it a good time.

Nous avons apprécié: - La gentillesse de la gérante (accueil, service au quotidien, "dépannage", conseils sur les points d'intérêts locaux/visites) - La chambre était grande et bien équipée - Le lit additionnel pour notre fille était suffisamment grand et confortable (pas un canapé-lit, ni un lit de camping) - La taille de l'hôtel était parfaite (pas trop de chambres) ce qui garantissait le calme du séjour et la qualité du contact avec les gérants. - la piscine était de bonnes dimensions et bien entretenue - le mobilier de terrasse était agréable et suffisant (2 chaises longues et 2 fauteuils de jardin petite table) Nous avons moins apprécié: - Alors que la description de la chambre mentionnait la climatisation, elle était seulement équipée d'une système de ventilation (pas air conditionné) - Le petit déjeuner était bon, mais pourrait bénéficier d'un plus grand choix et d'une présentation plus soignée (par exemple, confitures présentées dans le bocal du supermarché, boissons dans les cartons, etc.). Nous avons à l'occasion eu le sentiment que certains croissants de la veille étaient resservis. - La salle du petit déjeuner était agréable. Cependant, nous n'avons pas apprécié la présence d'une télévision allumée en fond sonore et nous aurions aimé avoir la possibilité de manger en extérieur. - Nous aurions aimer avoir une machine à café dans la chambre (ou la possibilité d'utiliser celle du petit déjeuner en cours de journée)
