I chose this hotel because of its close proximity to the city center, water, and reef trip dock, and it was perfect for what I needed. It was nice, modern, and clean. My favorite surprise was the spectacular, restaurant-level breakfast options with an amazing view of the water. Definitely a good choice if staying in Cairns.

This hotel is good, the cleaning service is done a bit too late in the day, ( always after 3pm) but the staff are nice, the food is good and they hotel is basic but clean. The Rooftop bar also closes at 8.30pm which is a little early.

We had a small issue at check in that was quickly resolved (leaking fridge had caused the carpet to get wet and smelly). We were immediately moved to another room that was great! Room had limited USB outlets so remember to bring your power converter for any North American style power cords. Hotel location is awesome if you want to be right in the centre of all the action. Tons of restaurants, easy walking to shopping, stores, the list goes on. The area has a great vibe, the night market is just down the street, boardwalk and ocean right across. Hotel rooftop patio is great for drinks anytime of day. We didn’t eat there so can’t comment on the food. Overall a great hotel that we would stay at again!

Convenient, modern and great staff service

Modern hotel located by the public pool and near port terminal and station. Convenient for any barrier reef excursions as well as train to Kuranda. Lots of dining options on the esplanade. Hotel has nice roof top bar and restaurant with views of the bay. Loved the staff friendliness.

Cairns escape

My stay at Oaks was great, perfect location, close to everything, and the rooftop bar is awesome. The room was a tad small but for myself and my 5 year old boy it served its purpose. However a microwave would have been perfect, you get a nespresso coffee pod machine and no way to heat up the milk that's in the fridge! But I found the staff very welcoming and even gave a couple of colouring sets to my boy which is a nice touch. Would definitely stay again.

New facility. Very clean and bright. Quiet setting close to park and swimming lagoon. Two great patios for guests. Rooftop bar and grill were a bonus. Would like to have one more chair in the room, offer of beach towels through reception, and small touches like coasters at the rooftop bar.

Only two small, flat pillows. Extras were not available. Air conditioning ran hot then cold then hot again. No hotel parking. Nearby parking was expensive.
