Lovely country pub (on a very wet and windy weekend - storm Dennis). Great breakfast, really good Sunday roast and excellent service. Room is fine - annex from the pub. If you are looking for an immaculate hotel room then this is not that - it is a nice, functional room but attached to a lovely pub and you’ll get great service.

The place was very convenient for what we were doing. It was lovely and quiet in our room. The owners were very friendly and great service.

Nice but overpriced

Lovely setting and good food and beer, room was a little on the small side for £85 a night. Service was good apart from one member of staff, looked like serving you was a chore.

Great weekend

Very friendly, very comfortable and beer and food. All the staff were very hospitable and helpful. Very nice community, we went to the Xmas lights turn on in the village and drank mulled wine and sang carols, accompanied by a brass band. All in all a great weekend and we will definitely return.

Friendliest spot I've ever stopped in. Beautiful historic old Inn in a beautiful little village. Looking forward to returning.

Glynn and his wife made us feel very welcome and the food was fab. The Queen Anne is a typical old English pub, very warm and cozy. We had a perfect weekend.

Great stay with excellent hosts

Fantastic location for us. Excellent breakfast. Great beer. Wonderful hosts. A minor problem was that hotels.com had indicated we could check in at 2.00 but that wasn't the case. Not a huge problem for us but could be for others.

This is the third time we have stayed here- we stayed for two nights to do some hiking and generally relax in the pub. We really liked the atmosphere in the pub which does seem to be a real locals pub, but one where they talk to visitors. The food was great and reasonably priced. The beer was, as always, excellent and well kept- the landlord takes pride in the condition and quality of his beer and I really don't understand why the pub is not in the CAMRA good beer guide. The village itself is quiet but close to good walking areas and other attractions such as Eyam village or Chatsworth.

Enjoyable weekend?

We had a fantastic stay, a really lovely welcome and nothing too much trouble. Wonderful home cooked food. There is so much to enjoy in this area including the picturesque scenery.

lovely comfortable stay, nice and rural and the room was small, as expected. The wardrobe was small as well, in fact would not hang a shirt properly, so not good. However good bathroom and shower and all very clean. Would certainly stay again.
