I have been staying at the Hawthorn 1-3 times a year since it was a Staybridge. I noticed that things have gone down hill since I stayed there approximately a year ago. Breakfast was not available like it normally is. It seems there was an issue with it getting started but I was disappointed when I saw 2 of the housekeepers come look around for food then grab a bagel toast it and walk away while approximately 30 guests were waiting for the pantry server ran like crazy to get food out. It just seemed poor service that the housekeepers didn't take the five minutes to help him out to provide the customer service before they got their food. I was also charged a holding fee 159.44 US/ $223.78CA that has not yet been returned I have called both the hotel and credit card rep who indicated it has not been released but Hawthorn says it is.

Property is nice. Interior of the suite is outdated. Thermostat didn't work. Couldn't turn aircondition on.

No one behind the counter at our 11 pm arrival. The 3 rd shift gentleman was kind and generous to us for the inconvenience. He informed us the girl would leave her shift early. The next day I see people standing and waiting in the lobby. One gentleman said he had been waiting there for 20 minutes. The girl apparently came out from down the hall with another boy and a girl. The one girl had alcohol in her hands. Our room keys did not work for the outside doors and we were only given one key. Low water pressure in the sinks but shower was ok. Seemed to be only cold water in the sinks. This is my second stay at this hotel. My first experience, I had a ding dong dash experience at 11 oclock at night. The kid waited down the hall for me to open the door which never happened. He eventually went down the stairwell. The hallway near the pool is faling about because of the humidity. Mold should be investigated. It was a warm, dry, clean bed. I was grateful for that.

I love this place. Me and my family stay here often. The only issue I have is the bottom of the pool and jacuzzi feel extremely gritty and dirty. I didn’t like my feet touching the bottom at all. Other than that the place is great.

Staff were very friendly and great. Room was clean and beds comfortable. It was great to have a suite and the extra room for a longer stay. The condition of the hotel is rough though. They were working on painting while we were there. Wallpaper in rooms in rough condition.

Not very good for the price
This hotel is not very kid accomadating. They had 25 kids inthe pool and wanted to take the kids inthe poolafter breakfast and they said you cannot due to check out time at 11. It was not even 11 yet, but it was to close. No extra blankets or sheeets for the pull out when we had 6 people staying on the booking and nobody would answer at the front desk. Breakfast: Eggs were cold and sausage was dry. No flavor, limited pastries, no water available, milk for cereal was in single serve pouches with straws you had to squeeze the milk into the cereal. Not many options. Staff was unfriendly and rude. Room was actually a good size for 6. Regular beds were comfortable.

Easy check in, only stayed a night passing through to Vermont very clean, shower got hot and had decent pressure. Did not get a chance to get a free breakfast. Unfortunately got placed by a boiler room but the staff was quick to our response and moved us to another room where it was incredibly quiet. We would recommend and would stay again.

Disappointed
The rooms smelled of smoke. Had to open to windows to sleep because of the stale/smoke. The bathroom walls had peeling and peeled off wallpaper- why not fix that? It looks trashy!

It’s a great value
Everything was great at check in. The rooms are dated but clean and huge. The beds were comfy and the pillows great. Water pressure was OK and the heater in the room sounded like an airplane getting ready to take off. Other than that no complaints.

I had an average stay at this hotel. The couch in the room is filthy, but besides that, the beds are comfortable, rooms are spacious, and the lobby is well kept.

Stayed here before and frontndesk horrible. Thia time VERY friendly. Room was ok but clean. The only beef ia the last time $100 hold on cc and this time $250! Makes zero sense as to why this time more.

ordered a 2 bedroom suite through expedia. They did not have a 2 bedroom suite when we checked in. Had to split up our family in 2 separate rooms. Had to get new key cards 4 different times during a 2 day stay. Torn carpets, mold near pool area. Overall not a good stay

A great hotel
The 2 room suite was excellent. Kids each had a bed and adults theirs. Loved the kitchen unit. Was close to visit family and close to restaurants. Convenient to Thurway.

Service here was problematic. Rooms aren't cleaned every day and u have to ask for new towels. Bath tub was dirty. Fire alarm went off at 8 am in morning. Room keys had to be renewed every 24 hours. Not on my return list.

Holiday travel
Perfect room for our stay. We had 5 adults who wanted to stay together. Got a suite with 3 beds. excellent. Used to break a long trip. Very good breakfast as well.
