"We had a marvellous time at Caracal Lodge. It was a wonderful away from it all experience. Magtree Cottage was very comfortable and well equipped even though there is no electricity, power being supplied by gas appliances, paraffin lamps and LED lighting. It was magical to wake up with views of the resident giraffe family as well as zebra, impala, horses and a pet pig! Outside there was a braai, fire pit in a lovely shaded area and a small pond. Exploring the 300 hectare game park there...

"ABOMINABLE. I have attempted to communicate with you on this platform AND Facebook. The owner told us the property was unavailable because it was rented out on long lease. We had to find alternative accommodation. The owner claims to have tried to arrange our refund, to no avail. We have also tried to request a refund, also to no avail.You can read our story on your Facebook page and in Facebook Messenger. "We really loved this property. The accoms were very spacious and our front veranda and look out of the valley below was very relaxing. Exceptional hosts who were very helpful with suggestions and provided a delicious breakfast. "

"This is good for a brief and mostly comfortable stay in Mbombela. The room is really small, but well laid out and the AC works well. The wifi was not great but okay, and the hotel does have a backup generator if needed. The staff were mostly friendly, but more care can be taken to explain about the property at check-in, or even provide a statement at checkout (still waiting for that to be emailed to me). The pool is nice although it was pretty much taken over by people who brought their own music speakers making it unpleasant for hotel guests. The door key cards kept erroring out, which meant going back to reception multiple times, and there is no elevator for anyone with disabilities or heavy bags. Price wise the hotel was reasonable, but onsite food and drink is pricey. "

"Only stayed one night and enjoyed it thoroughly. They accommodated a last-minute request for dinner, which was very tasty and delivered to my room. Breakfast was very good as well. The staff was very friendly and responsive, and they have a very sweet dog (Mango) whose visits made the stay even more "
