クリフトン吊り橋に近く周辺も快適です
ブリストルバスステーションからは徒歩30分位掛かりますが、有名なクリフトンつり橋に近く、またホテル周辺もレストラン・パブ・スーパーマーケットと揃っているので快適です。小さいホテルですが受付24h対応で親切・フレンドリーです。

Classic Clifton
Our room was at the top of the hotel and my aunt did struggle with the climb as there's no lift but we did have a great view of the hot air balloons in the morning. The room was of a reasonable size but some of the Georgian character is lost in the standard room interior. The bathroom was modern and the shower worked well. The hotel is well situated for the Clifton region and there are plenty of places to eat out. We brought their afternoon tea but this didn't include any sandwiches, just a scone that tasted more like a sweet roll. However the rear garden is a lovely space to relax and breakfast was very tasty.

Dear Catherine, Thank you for reviewing us. We will certainly look at making more economical use of the space in room 31, in order to give a more spacious feel. I am delighted you enjoyed the view, and our reception team is always on hand offer any assistance with carrying luggage up the stairs. Very good. Only stayed one night and didn't use any of the facilities apart from my room. Therefore, very limited experience but definitely value for money.

The Rodney provides an economical base for a visit to Bristol My stay was for 3 days - unfortunately the room was not serviced after the first night (but was on the second) Reception/check in was good with pleasant staff

Room is clean and has everything including fruit and mini bar - is in great location for Clifton village- restaurant was closed during my stay due to a private function Door key was really stiff and public tolet was right outside room but in general fine and my request for a low floor room accommodated

Staff all helpful and friendly and very accommodating. We were able to check in early after leaving our luggage in safe keeping. Great selection of tea and coffee and biscuits each day. Plus fruit to welcome us. Bed good and linens too.

Rather than take the predictable but dull option of staying in a national hotel chain, I thought I’d do something different for this year’s college reunion and am pleased to have found the Rodney. An attractive and historic building, well maintained and well-appointed, the staff were friendly and helpful and the location, in the heart of Clifton Village, is excellent. I’ll use this hotel again.

Nice location, a bit pricey and service spotty
Good: quiet location in Clifton, friendly staff (especially the blonde woman on evening reception), decent range of made to order breakfast meals, use of back garden. Bad: pricey for a tiny room, no air conditioning, no escalator which can be a problem if you have mobility issues. I accidentally broke a glass tumbler in a bathroom sink. Tumbler should have been more robust in a setting where it could easily be knocked off a shelf. Also, when I reported it in the morning the glass still wasn’t cleared when I was back in the evening - thankfully, the aforementioned woman on reception did clear me at of it away when I mentioned it again.

Property has character but is somewhat dated in certain areas. Bathroom space limited and tired bathroom suite although functional. Access to the top floor is via a steep staircase which may cause issue for some persons. Breakfast was very good and good choice available. Staff friendly and eager to assist as required.

A night in Bristol.
The room was small yet cozy, but it was noisy when anyone walked overhead. The provision of coffee, tea, a small pack of biscuits and several pieces of fruit were alI very welcome, but I noticed that the fruit bowl was dusty. The shower room was clean, but the knob on the inside of the door was scuffed and wobbled, as there was a screw missing. The bottles of hand wash above the sink were approximately half full and the shower tray didn’t drain quickly enough, so I was paddling in the water as I washed. There were a couple of other niggly bits, but nothing major! The bed was nice and comfortable. The location of the hotel was perfect for exploring the area and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. I would definitely like to stay there again in the future, but on in the basement level.

Great hotel - would stay again
Excellent hotel for the money, especially as it's located right in Clifton. Rooms are a little small, but perfectly adequate and the bed was comfortable.

First of all the staff are great and the breakfast was good, but it goes downhill from here. Parking is a nightmare and I had to park a distance from the property and carry bags in the pouring rain. Once checked in, I headed to my room which was very disappointing. A strong drain smell came from the bathroom which is the worst I have seen whilst travelling (Room 15), it smelled like the drains in Greece. There was mould all around the bath and soap scum was still present, the sink was also cracked. The room was tiny and had threadbare carpets and a light shone through beneath the door throughout the night. On top of this, noise travels a lot in this hotel, noisy guests downstairs, very very squeaky floorboards in the room above and the guest was walking around between 2am - 3.40am. Bathroom fans from other rooms seem to be on forever and can be heard humming throughout the night. Keen to say that I will not be returning to this hotel again when working in Bristol.

Very enjoyable stay. All staff extermely friendly and polite. Located in a fantastic area of Bristol. Like some have said some repairs and restorations are needed, but it's an old building so to be expected - didn't affect the experience.

Stay here for the lovely location only, not for a beautiful hotel, staff are lovely but rooms are tired and that is being kind- my very old window wouldn’t fully close, marks all over walls, threadbare carpet. Also they do warn you of no lift, I was right on top floor and last flight of stairs is tricky with a case. Given poor quality of room I didn’t bother with breakfast.

Parking was the only issue an otherwise great stay
The hotel is centrally located in Clifton village, so there could be noise association with that, but I sleep heavy so didn't notice any. The room was comfy and nicely presented. The only negative was the parking, I had to drive around residential areas searching for a space that was pay and display.
