Chi Gardens is the Best!

I simply need to go back as soon as possible. Christie and her team were amazing. I enjoyed every second of my stay. I learned so much and had so many wonderful conversations with the other guests. I have to recommend Chi Gardens for anyone wanting a peaceful experience while in Barbados. The garden is simple breath taking. I’m happy I chose to stay here for my first trip to Barbados.

My stay at Chi's Guesthouse was quite comfortable. It offered a little snippet into Barbadian culture, as it is nestled in a quiet neighborhood. The area is also safe, so it's perfect for early morning walks. There's also a garden, and the host is very friendly.

The apartment is located in a private house located in a nice area and quiet of Bridgetown. The house is very near both the major freeway and the downtown. The place has a private entrance and everything needed for a quiet and relaxing stay.

I had a great time at Barbados CHI guest house and the hostess Christy was a delight. The location is perfect - an easy walk or minivan ride to the beach. The gardens were beautiful creating a peaceful atmosphere and Christy is a actual master gardener. I loved to hear the singing frogs at night and the various birds during the day. For a stay with peace and quiet with easy access and opportunity to experience Barbadian daily living, beaches, and culture—this is the place to be. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality!

A tropical paradise

Christie was a wonderful host. She helped me with an emergency, helped me navigate Bridgetown, and supported me in dealing with a hospitalized family member. Th environment is very beautiful. Bridgetown is too hot for me!

Wonderful Garden Guesthouse

For me the best part of travel is the people I meet and experiences I have.Christy and Victor showed us the most wonderful time! Whether it was sitting by a bonfire in the garden, serving us local Bajan food, or taking us to the local farmer's market, all of the care they take with their guests makes for a very special and memorable and trip. At the end of a long beach day or trip around the island it was so nice to come back and sit on the veranda overlooking the garden with a nice glass of wine and catch up with our hosts. My daughter and I, had a wonderful time in Barbados and we have Christy and Victor to thank for it.

was not great... 90s outdated fridge that did not freeze or keep food from spoiling... cost of paying for a/c use was not attractive. bathroom toilet did not flush well... host was hungry for me to stay more days... heck no!

A fantastic time surely to be repeated! We were looking for a nice place to stay in Barbados, outside of a resort experience, to learn more about the culture, the people. The Barbados CHI Centre was just that! The cottage-like house is situated in the middle of a magnificent garden (some times the man looking after it may be around an give you a tour, thanks Box!) in a quiet cul-de-sac, and only a 30-min walk to the city, 5 to a busy road where minivans and buses stop. We used it as our headquarters while visiting Bridgetown. For us, having also the opportunity of interacting with the hosts, Ellen and Christian, was what made our stay supreme! They went above and beyond in making sure our stay was great, and they definitely did. We felt really welcomed and definitely come back if we are in the area.

It has a dusty and musty smell, there are many humidity problems on the ceilings, it is not a good environment. It is full of many personal items everywhere and everything looks very messy. The hostess had a bad attitude when I arrived, my flight was delayed, I notified her through Expedia. The entrance is uncomfortable, if it rains you get wet opening and closing the padlock. Does not accept credit cards. Dirty carpets, dangerous desk chair in poor condition. $20 per day additional and in cash to use the a/c and it doesn't cool well, it has a bad smell. It has a lot of rules, you even have to take out the trash.

Christy is a great host. She is very welcoming and attentive. The property is in a nice quiet part of town but not far from the beach and stores. I enjoyed laying in the hammock and walking through the beautiful, huge garden. It had everything I needed for a great stay. I didn't want to leave but I will be back.

Barbados Chi Guest House was an excellent stay from start to finish. To begin, the guest house is centrally located in the diplomatic area of "B-Town". Being steps away from embassies and other government buildings was an excellent start to seeing the local historic treasures. As a traveller who was looking for a natural experience entwined with the Bajans, the 5 minute walk to the bus and 20 minute walk to Carlyle Bay became central to my exploration of Barbados via bus/taxi. Secondly, the guest house is beautifully nestled on a parcel that allows for patio sunrises looking into the expansive natural garden the hosts have in the yard. Next, the hosts were fantastic. I was a solo traveller and from my original arrival till departure, they were full of courtesy, suggestions for locations, and how to travel to the planned spots, all while quietly tending their garden. My welcome included the host taking me down to Carlyle bay for the evening, taking her time to welcome me to Barbados, while helping me get comfortable with the week of exploring the island on foot i had planned. They even fixed a blown shower head seal the same day I informed them of the issue. Christy and Victor (aka Box) will be my first call for my next trip to Barbados, when I return to take in my missing site explorations. My next trip will include friends, so remember that they can accommodate large groups >10 as well.
