Also, the villa is located at the stop of a very steep hill, so although the town enter is not far away, it's not the easiest walk.」
「Stunning property in a newly restored old house. Beautiful, spacious and well-appointed room. The common areas were comfortable and there was a lovely balcony. The breakfast which was beautifully served on the balcony was beyond compare. Local, fresh, and delicious Cretan treats. Archanes is close to Heraklion and the palace of Knossos and had plenty of dining options. We were in Greece for three weeks and our night at Carpe Diem was probably our best stay. Can’t recommend highly enough. 」
「Evina is an apartment hotel, with a number of two story buildings around a square. The compound was supposed to have a pool and a small store, but these looked to have been closed for some time. There is also no restaurant on premises, so we were informed that we would have to go to the hotel down the street (owned by the same owners) for breakfast, and that we could also use the pool there. 「Great location, accessible parking and easy-ish to find at night. Some amenities unavailable (espresso pods, toiletries, laundry soap, drying rack). Strangely, none of the tv remotes contained batteries. A/C was functional and the mattresses comfortable. Steep marble staircase made it a little treacherous for tiny kids. Breakfast downstairs was an easy win.」
