Excellent motel style accommodation.

Last minute late (11pm= business stay means you need a clean warm room with good shower facilities. This had all of these plus the extensively stocked services shop so I had good quality food including fresh breakfast food.

Great stop of point and comfortable hotel

The hotel is simple yet the rooms was nice and lots of space and warm. The bath room with beautiful and you get soap etc. Room nice could do with a lick of paint maybe but nice TV and was a lovely stay.

Bad management

Stayed here for 2 nights , first ok but noisy and the 2nd terrible 😢 as a disabled person i requested a downstairs room which i got. But what i didnt get was any help or support when the fire alarm went of late in the evening, not one member of staff came to help me and by the time i got out it was all over. I expected atleast a call to check i was ok once it was over. Nothing!!!! Will never use again

Rivington Lodge Hotel

The room was good , heater worked; room was ckean , bedding was fresh ; the check-in and signage of the entrance to the hotel was very poor.How many guests would know or assume check-in was actually through an adjacent garage !

Smelled a bit musty Walls made of paper. First night some morons were having a party in the room next door. Other nights families were staying, not unnecessarily noisy but noise travels so well between rooms, very poor sleep most nights. Staff were fine

Paid for the hotel. Got told couldn’t stay. Slept in my car outside the hotel as had a medical appointment first thing in the morning. Never again

Fire safety lacking

We stayed for one night and while the room was fine in terms of facilities, the procedures for health and safety were inadequate.When the fire alarm was activated at 2.30 a.m. there was no-one in charge of evacuation. When I walked to the adjoining building to report the problem the person there was totally unaware that the fire alarm had gone off. This could have been a potentially serious situation, especially if there had been more elderly visitors involved.I have tried to contact EG head office but received no reply as yet which is disappointing. I await their response.

Useless, unhelpful, rude staff. Couldn’t use sofa bed in family room owing to it being broken, told by staff there’s nothing they can do and we should go stay elsewhere! Dirty, unhygienic room, cold, poorly ventilated. Upon check out there were another two guests venting their spleen very loudly using colourful expletives! Other than that, we’ll, there is no other than that, the experience was shocking throughout.

Great location and very quiet. Rooms are warm and the beds very comfortable. Have stayed for many weekends and will go back again. Great value for money.

Good room, poor facilities on site.

Apart from coffee/tea making in the room these are no facilities for food and drink. After 8pm the only food available at the services next door was Subway. Greggs, Starbucks and Burger King were all closed. The room was modern, comfortable and large. The only issue I had was the room next door having the TV on till the early hours.

Great location and unbelievably quiet for a motorway services hotel. Also very cheap but it is room only. I have stayed here now most weekends and never encountered any problems.

Charged on card when the option to pay at property was checked, room stunk from smoking and the corridor stunk of weed being smoked in one or more of the rooms, no hotel staff on hand only shop staff that issue room key. Wouldn’t recommend or use again

For a cheap overnight break you cannot fault it. Next to a motorway it is remarkably quiet and it is also very well placed to visit elsewhere or for a long rambling walk in the countryside. Tea and coffee in the room but no catering facilities. Motorway services are next door but it is only a 5 minute drive to a host of eateries in nearby towns. Overall, well recommended.

Pleasantly surprised how quiet it was. Good location for so many things and places. Very modern, towels bed linen tea coffee tv. A bit too warm though. Turn off the heating in the corridors. I am returning soon, already booked. Unbelievable value.
