"Annonce disant 7 sdb en fait 3!!! Problématique pour les douches et que l’on atteint le nombre de 28. Cuisine pas adaptée au grand nombre, petite et étroite. Vaisselle non adaptée au grand nombre également. Le reste est très confortable et nous avons beaucoup aimé mais nous avons eu la chance d'avoir beau temps. Sinon cela aurait été étroit. "Our host at Au Fer à Cheval was Romain, a friendly and helpful man. He owns about 20 English thoroughbred race horses, as well as breeds them. His farm is in a beautiful location with lovely views. It was unfortunately cold and wet for the two nights that we were there, so we couldn't use the pool, and the roads were too slippery for him to take us out in his horse-drawn carriage, but we did see two of his retired racing mares with their foals. Our room was comfortable and clean, good shower, and a small kitchenette. It's a good idea to take your own tea, coffee and milk with you. Continental breakfast was good and delivered to our room at the time we requested. A good guide book in English of what to do in the area was left in our room, but perhaps the only disadvantage of the place is that it is quite isolated and a long way from any any restaurants. Overall, a lovely place, and we'd recommended it."

"My 5 year old summed this up best: ‘I wish we could live here!’ The property was idyllic. It was set in huge private grounds that are not overlooked by anyone except horses and donkeys. We had all our meals outside in the sunny courtyard chatting around the large tables and listening to nature, under the shade of the tree, and spent evenings there also under garden string lights. We loved the pool - the kids spent endless hours in it and the adults could relax on the comfy sun loungers under the parasols. There was also a pool cover and the area was gated so very safe for kids. The area was incredibly quiet - we could cycle on the roads from the property without coming across many vehicles, and visited many pretty villages in le perche region and saw beautiful churches, went to nice markets and played mini golf. But we didn’t need to leave the property - there was enough there to entertain us - the pool, table tennis, darts, badminton, bikes, table football, hammocks, swing, river, donkeys, ponds and frogs, games (we loved pickomino!) and tv (that was never turned on!). The accommodation was clean, had everything we needed, beds were comfortable, floorboards were on the creaky side and doorways low for taller guests, but authentically renovated and full of character. What a privilege it was to have spent a week in such a lovely, peaceful place. "
