Area is fun to drive around. Tides restaurant was great with a few other places still to try. Fort Ross , 17 miles north , well worth the drive. We will return. SB

Great cottage

We had an incredible two days relaxing in this lovely beachside cottage. Every detail has been thought of. We were even lucky enough to have several whale sightings from the comfort of the deck. We hope to be back again soon and often!

Exceeded Expectations

It just doesn't get any better than this place. Spectacular ocean view on one side, bucolic farm on the other. Private, clean, comfortable. Fully functional in every way.

This is a little slice of heaven right on the ocean.

This place is incredible. Very comfortable, spotless, very well furnished and supplied, and the view is outstanding. The loft with the 2 twin beds is a steep climb but great for young people. Cannot say enough good things about this place. Great for honeymooning or celebrating those anniversaries. And the stairs to the beach look intimidating but are not all that bad. Have to do it.

Amazing

This was our first time renting homes for a vacation. We travelled with our two adult children. The Seamist accomodated us perfectly. You CANNOT beat these views and the sound of the crashing waves. We found ourselves wondering up and down the coast morning, day, and night. Only concern was whether we would get stranded by the high and low tide on the beach. The tides provided astonishing changes in beauty to our experience at Seamist. Sunset are to die for. The accomodations are well stocked, better than the other two homes we rented during our stay in California. We will return, Thank you Seamist!

The View. The View. The View.

Amazing location. Can't get much closer to the ocean unless you are on a boat. Perfect place to relax and enjoy the ocean. Semi private beach was pretty much private. Easy walk to Portuguese Beach along the beach when the tide is out or along the road. Had a nice lunch at River's End in Jenner. Good food and nice views. Had a delicious dinner at Terrapin Creek Cafe (one Michelin Star) just down the road. Cottage is perfect for a couple or a couple with one or two older children. Parking is a little tight. You do have to back out of the driveway onto Highway 1 but we did not find it to be a problem. Had a wonderful time and cannot wait to come back.

Exceptional Cottage with Killer Views

Loved this place. Great location a few minutes from town. Absolutely incredible views. Make a point of being there for sunrise and sunsets as they're spectacular. Very up to date and stylish interior. Was perfect for couple and looks like it would be good with older kids... with the great view comes a dramatic cliff off the back deck.. so probably not for toddlers. Bed was comfy. Took quite awhile to warm up the cottage in mid November.. recommend arriving early to get it warmed up. There is a stairway to the beach, but pretty small beach at least while we were there. If you want to walk the beach head North or South a few minutes to very large beaches. Highly recommend!

Amazing location!!

The view is incredible and practically your own. We were up there in November and it was cold and windy, but it didn't stop us from hanging out on a private little beach. We bundled up, sipped wine, and watched sunset on a Monday night... glorious! The house is darling. There is everything you need for a get-away. The bed was a little hard and the pillows a bit flat, but it served its purpose. The wicker furniture is not the most comfortable either, but again was fine for a quick trip. Lastly, and something to keep in mind if there will be more than two guests... the hot water heater is small, so back to back showers can drain the hot water pretty quickly. Two people in a row was fine, but anything more than that was cold. As long as your space them out, there isn't a problem. We'll definitely keep this place in mind for future Bodega Bay visits.

Rough Start

We arrived in mid December on a cold, foggy day, driving up from SF airport. When we arrived, the property indoor temperature was 55 deg. I had to put on my coat. There is no central heat and the electric "fireplace" was not sufficient to heat the living room. We called the local contact and emailed owner. After about an hour, a second portable electric heater was delivered. Eventually, the unit became tolerable. I would have appreciated getting an email regarding the heat situation and avoided the surprise of a cold unit. After this rough start, we were able to enjoy the view and area. This property is as advertised ( except for lack of heat). The view is beautiful. The steps provide access to the beach. If you rent in the summer months, it will be ideal.

SeaMist - Oceanfront Bodega Bay

Our stay at seamist was wonderful. The property was as described and very clean! They really have everything you'll need including extra pillows, blankets, found everything we needed in the kitchen too. The loft is meant for someone who doesn't have issues climbing a spiral staircase, we thought it was fun. The bathroom is small and just an FYI that you'll need to be able to lift your legs high in order to get in the shower/tub. The only complaint I would make it is the living room furniture, it's not bad by any means but would prefer couches...something more comfortable to take in that view. The view is beyond breathtaking. The area is filled with delicious seafood....oysters galore. Love seeing relics from the movie The Birds! One of our favorites. It was awesome that the DVD was there...we absolutely put it on while we enjoyed cooking together. There were many local artist too which we just loved. Honestly....we could have just bought some groceries and stayed at seamist the entire time...the ocean is all you need. We will definitely be back.

Property is right on the water, great views of the ocean. VRBO listing says 2 bedrooms which is accurate BUT the 2nd bedroom is up a small spiral staircase….. not pictured anywhere and not easy to climb. It’s a loft with 2 older twin beds. Also property only has 1 parking spot also never mentioned in listing We tried to contact property owner thru VRBO and didn’t get a response from property owner or any follow up from VRBO. Our stay was wonderful but your property listing and response needs improvement

The VIEW is worth it!

This is a split review because the view of this property makes everything worth it. But, there were some downsides to the experience as well. The reason I am still happy I booked this location was the experience of sitting in the hot tub or sitting for hours on the deck looking at the staggering view. That’s what makes everything worth it. I’ve traveled all around the world and it’s easily one of the best views I’ve ever seen. Downsides: Poor communication: There was literally NO communication from the host. I messaged multiple times before the booking with a question and did not hear anything in response. I also never heard anything from them the entire time, once the booking was made. Parts of the home are in disrepair: The overall home is beautiful. There was champagne waiting at arrival and nice touches around the house. However there are many areas around the house that seem like they have been broken for a good amount of time with no plan on fixing them. For example, there is a label that simply says “we know about this” under a break in the glass in the bathroom. For $600+ a night, I would expect they could make a few of the minor repairs the home needs, but non seem like there a priority anytime soon. Otherwise an amazing experience!

Relaxing and beautiful environment on the ocean!

We enjoyed the property and took advantage of the hottub and firepit with a sunset view! Total relaxation. Had a time with the TV and Dish must have been out as it miraculously worked the next day after troubleshooting everything the evening before. You can tell how much upkeep a place on the ocean requires as it is in need of some paint, etc. I strongly recommend VRBO owners to stay in their places to get a better idea of what is needed. Road improvements/exits will be wonderful when finished. Was able to communicate quickly with our contact. Best for couples, upstairs bedroom not good for adults or small children but maybe tweens. Thank you for a lovely stay, I would definitely consider returning to this vrbo if in the area again.
