This tiny studio is right on the water, 50 steps (watch the treacherous 29th step on your way down) off of, and I mean right off of, highway 1 is the perfect place to explore Bodega Bay from. Waking up to misty mornings, with flocks of Buffleheads, Coots, Grebes, and Loons out the west-facing windows will tempt you to spend the whole day there. Don't give in! From the hikes across the harbor on Bodega Head, to the scenic driving up and down the coast, to the wine county a scant 20 minutes east, you couldn't ask for a more perfect base of operations.
Three things to be mindful of: the door to the balcony does take a little finesse, the water heater is on the smaller side (we're in a drought, so you probably shouldn't be taking long showers anyhow), and a couple of the rivets holding down the transition strips like to snag at socks. Otherwise, the little furnace does a yeomans job, the bed is soft and comfortable, and the furnishings are tasteful.
