This was a beautiful property. Everything was just as we expected with the house, exactly what we were looking for. The outside was way more than we could have ever imagined! It was gorgeous! The seaweed was pretty heavy but there were plenty of clear spots perfect for some great snorkeling. The reef is close enough to snorkel every day. This was a bucket list trip for us and I can't wait to go back. We were never able to get in touch with the property manager Penni, but we were able to communicate with the management company when we had questions. The land line did not work (which would have been convenient for making reservations) and the cell phone left on the desk when we came in did not have enough data to place a call or send a text.
Before we left I had read several places/sites not to bring any food with you, just get it there, however I wish that we had brought a few things with us. We went to the grocery store the first day & found everything to be at least double what it would have been at home. If you can bring it with you I recommend that you do. Our grocery bill for the 5 days we were there (mostly snacks & breakfast foods) was just under $300.
What we did: The Bioluminescence tour w/ The Sweet Spot, it was a fun boat ride and it was a very cool experience. It was like swimming in a black pool full of glitter. Not recommending it if you do not plan on getting into the water, but if you do get in depending on the group you are with you will run a good chance of getting stung by jellyfish. It was about $55 pp, the crew was great & we had fun, but it is not for everyone. We worked with the Mike @ the Lobster Pot dive shop. We did a "discovery dive" for my daughter (17), I did a tag along reef dive, & my husband & son (14) did the North Wall dive. All were AMAZING!! We also rented snorkel, fins & masks for the week from them ($15 pp per day). We went to Sting Ray Sandbar w/Dexter & Fantasea tours ($40 pp) it was an AMAZING DAY! We drove to Starfish point & stayed there for a few hours on our own, be prepared for crowds but well worth it. Da Fish Shack, The Lobster Pot restaurant, Rackam's & Coconut Joe's are all great restaurants. Don't waste your time with Rum Point, it was very $ & dirty compared to the rest of the island. Please don't miss the chance to visit 7 mile beach there are tons of public beach accesses along the main road, you will understand why it is listed as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
