Unwind at our "shabby chic" getaway in the city. Tucked into the first floor of our quaint, artist-friendly house, this one bedroom apartment is just minutes from downtown, UAB and the Vulcan trail. Enjoy the comfort and privacy of a bedroom with queen size bed, bathroom with tub-shower, kitchenette, dining areas and reading nook in Birmingham’s beautiful Southside neighborhood.
The space
Our funky and historic home was built in 1925 and has been lovingly updated and customized by a number of artists over the years. It currently contains three private units. This one-bedroom apartment is located on the first floor with entry via a private door off of a shared front room. The unit contains a bedroom, spacious closet, kitchenette, bathroom, dining and reading area. This is truly a one-of-a-kind, handmade space with incredible proximity to the best Birmingham has to offer.
Air conditioning is available via window unit. Heating is available via central heating with the option of additional portable electric radiators.
The kitchenette is stocked with cooking basics including a sink, mini fridge (no freezer), induction cooktop, microwave, and toaster oven.
The lovely seating area on the front porch is available for your enjoyment. Access to the Vulcan Trail, a mostly flat 4.0 mile/6.4 km out and back is just .3 miles/.5 km from the house.
Please note that as this is an environmentally friendly, pesticide-free house in the humid south, you may see occasional palmetto bugs inside. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns about this.
