"Liked: The beds were very clean and one of the most comfortable that I’ve slept in. The cement walls meant you barely heard your neighbours except when they opened/closed the door. The heat pump was great to adjust temp/cooling. The rate was a really great value. There was plenty of hot water. What could use some work: Some of the towels looked dingy and had stains. They should be replaced, it’s not a welcoming visual even if the rest of the linens were clean. The satellite TV lost signal all night, it wasn’t stormy, nor raining. A coffee maker in the room would be a nice amenity. We were not told about the breakfast that is included ,if that’s still a thing. Overall it was an ok stay in an area that we needed a room for the night. We slept well. The motel could use a little spiffing up but it has great potential and we would stay again, if needed based on the rate alone. Great value in today’s economy."

Hummingbird Hike-In Sleeping Pod at Sally's Brook Wilderness Cabins

"J'ai adoré notre séjour chez Sally's Brook. Lisa a été géniale avec nous. Le "cookhouse" était génial et avait tout ce dont nous avions besoin. Le lit etait HYPER confortable, je n'ai jamais aussi bien dormi. Petit astérisque, si vous choisissez le Hummingbird pod, c'est très petit. C'est mieux pour un couple ou une seule personne. J'étais avec mon père et mon chien, mon père a dormi confortablement sur le sofa lit, et on a trouvé un endroit pour mon chien aussi. Mais je recommande plus gros, si vous avez besoin de deux lits."

Cabot Shores Wilderness Resort

"I really liked the location and setting. It's perfect for someone looking to be fully immersed in nature. It's quiet, calm, and natural in every way. Staff were friendly and helpful. The remote beach behind the resort grounds is not to be missed - gorgeous! Saw a bald eagle perched on driftwood fairly early in the morning. I thought my mattress was a bit too thin and the springs quite noticeable. I was able to sleep okay, but it kept coming to my attention that it might be time to replace. I thought the continental breakfast was a bit uninspired. It was okay, but there wasn't much about it had me enthused about having breakfast the next morning. What was being called pumpkin bread was really marble rye swirl with pumpernickel."

Chanterelle Country Inn & Cottages

"My husband and I were delighted with our stay at Chanterelle Inn. While somewhat unassuming from the outside, this cozy property nestled in the bucolic Cape Breton countryside offered the utmost in comfort and hospitality. The proprietors, a talented husband-and-wife team (she's the restaurant's chef) and their staff were laid back, friendly and charming while also being extremely attentive to all of our needs. I have to say, though, that the dinners we had at the Chanterelle were top-notch culinary experiences! With a meat choice, a fish choice or a vegetarian choice (we chose the fish each time), this 6-course meal was perfectly balanced, imaginative without being too "out there," delicious, surprisingly affordable and was definitely the standout experience during our 3-night stay. We highly recommend the Chanterelle Inn & Restaurant, whether spending the night or just coming for dinner and would definitely stay here again."
