"Two couples in our 80s greatly appreciated the stay in this quiet cabin in the woods. We visited and hiked in Lassen National Park, then came home to rest in the hammock and other places to sit in the back yard. We are long-time friends who enjoyed time together, fixing dinner and eating together in a kitchen with everything we needed, relaxing in a living room with comfortable seating for talking and watching a movie on TV. The beds were comfortable for two very tall men and their wives, and each couple had a private bathroom."
"The house is a wonderful place of rest after 2 days of visiting Lassen Volcanic National Park. It is located very close to the park entrance, Manzanita Lake and Loomis museum. Groceries can be purchased in nearby Shingletown. All the comforts of home are in this beautifully decorated cabin."
"This was a last minute booking for a trip to Lassen Volcanic National Park. The location was perfect and only a couple of miles from a place to grab pizza for dinner after a day of hiking! The house was perfect for us and Angela left us 6 fresh eggs from the chicken coop out back so breakfast was easy!! Highly recommend for anyone visiting Lassen!"
"This property was perfect for our visit to Lassen Volcanic Park area. I give an overall 5 stars. Although it was great to unplug (no Wi-Fi), the cell signal was very weak and having Wi-Fi might allow guests to check in with loved ones easier. Otherwise it was excellent"
"Charming, cozy, vintage-style cabin in a quiet neighborhood. Close to the tree-lined Pacific Coast Trail and the Lassen National Park entrance. The cabin is decorated with warmth and character. It’s filled with rustic wood furniture, some vintage lamps, a classic oven, and a retro refrigerator. The couches with warm fleece blankets sit across from a wood-burning stove. The upstairs bedroom had the most comfortable bed, and the upstairs bathroom has a claw foot bathtub. The place has a delightful smell of cedar wood. You can access the Pacific Coast Trail from the backyard. It’s surrounded by tall pine trees and some redwoods. The host Jill was helpful and accessible. The cabin was so wonderful and peaceful, we didn’t want to leave. We would definitely stay again!"
"Excellent location for access to Lasson Volcanic National Park (north entrance). Extremely quiet; limited restaurant choices, however, the Pioneer Pizza was excellent for gluten free option."
Photos displayed in this historic museum provide a window into the park’s appearance during the tumultuous eruptions and rock avalanches of the early 1900s.
Fascinating volcanic rocks suggest an enormous debris avalanche shook the area just a few centuries ago. Swim in the lake and hike around the mountains.
