"I am a nature lover and explorer, so we came to hike trails along the blue ridge. It was the most gorgeous place to return to after our day was done. It makes a difference when you come back to a place that feels like home. Those places that are listed as "gems"....this is truly one of them! I could not have been happier with a location that was "home away from...

There was nothing we didn't like!! I can't say enough good things about this Hotel, we stayed here on July 3rd for our 6 year Wedding Anniversary just a little getaway & we were not disappointed! We absolutely loved it & our stay was absolutely wonderful, everyone was so welcoming & friendly. We got into our room & had 2 yummy cookies waiting for us along with a very sweet card wishing up a Happy Anniversary, such a nice touch. We came from Georgia to Virginia so my girls could do there intensives at Liberty University. While we were traveling my husband becomes so sick that we have to stop at a ER. When we get to the hotel I explained that I needed to get my husband in the room so I can go get meds across town. The desk clerk ask me if he could do anything to make our stay more comfortable and if so just let him know. My husband and I had planned on sightseeing the whole week instead we ended up with two visits to...

The Gin Hotel, an Ascend Collection Hotel

Lexington

10/10 Excellent

The Gin Hotel is a must stay again for me. The Gin is a unique hotel in a 100yr old building right in downtown Lexington. It was quiet, clean, safe and all of the staff were awesome. I grew up in the area but haven't returned in a couple of decades. Downtown Lexington has transformed into a great place to walk around, shop, eat and have a few drinks. The only negatives I would give is parking is tight for modern vehicles and the mattress was firmer than my taste... but that's personal...
