2 Storey House with garden, central Bergerac, spacious and bright. Parking privé
Newly renovated 2 storey house, fully equipped with brand new furniture and beds. The property is right in the middle of Bergerac, in immediate walking distance of restaurants, bars and cafés, bakeries, the main market and small supermarkets. It is located in a calm street, not overlooked, so you can make the best of the small sunny garden (complete with palm tree!). The ground floor is taken up by one very large room (40m sq or 430 feet sq) with 3 full length french windows. The kitchen/dining area blends seamlessly into the living area with its 4 seater sofa and armchair - the perfect place to relax. The kitchen is very well equipped. There is a shower room with WC on the ground floor. The second shower room is upstairs, along with the three bedrooms. It houses the washing machine (no dryer) and the WC is separate. There is an air conditioning unit in the main room downstairs, and a second unit in the corridor upstairs, as well as fans in the rooms. There is high speed (fibre optic) wi-fi throughout. You can normally stop your car just outside the house to unload, and we have a lock-up garage next to the house (not suitable for very large vehicles). The railway station is 600m away and a less-than-10 minute walk through the old town brings you to the banks of the Dordogne, and the Maison des Vins (Quai Cyrano), our favourite place to have a glass of wine overlooking the river.

Spotless, well-appointed home with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Check in/out was clear and easy. Having a parking spot available was great. Would definitely stay again!
Very practical property, had everything we needed especially the kitchen. Really comfortable beds, good quality linen.Only a short walk to shops and old town. A parasol in the garden would be useful. Taxi Abeilles provide a reasonable and reliable service.
Spent a week at the house and it was everything they promised and everything we wished for our holiday. Perfect location to get about Bergerac on foot and the surrounding area by car
House was just next to the market. We had a perfect day exploring the market and cooking a meal in the perfectly stocked kitchen. The garden was great for a morning coffee or aperitivo. Highly recommend the stay.
The house was perfected situated, well appointed, modern and comfortable. Our hosts are fantastic. We had a special need while in the area and they were very helpful. We can highly recommend this wonderful home, complete with a parking spot.
The house was as advertised, excellently equipped and spacious.
Perfect location, steps from the centre but on a quiet street.
Excellent communication with owner who was so helpful from booking to end of our stay.
Lovely large property close to most restaurants and village centre. Excellent kitchen facilities. Air conditioning was excellent.
Very friendly owners and great communication answered all our small queries promptly.
I’m so glad we found this perfectly located holiday home, ideal for exploring the beautiful Dordogne and with Bergerac literally on your doorstep. Really well equipped, clean and very comfortable, just as described.
This property, in a great location, was ideal for 3 couples who wanted to explore the region. Martin and Gwendoline were extremely helpful and assisted us with information that added to our positive experience. The high standard of fitout and appliances helped make our stay enjoyable. We were close to the old city, weekly markets and transport connections. As experienced travellers, this was one of our best stays.
We had a fantastic stay at the property for a long weekend break in Bergerac.
The house is in a perfect location for visiting the town & is very convenient for all amenities including the local market.
The house is great, very clean, comfortable bedrooms, great air conditioning and a fully equipped kitchen. We particularly enjoyed sitting in the garden of an evening relaxing with a bottle of local wine.
Martin was very helpful pre visit with information.
I would highly recommend this house & would love to stay again. A perfect weekend stay!
A very central location, perfect for exploring Bergerac and the lovely things it has to offer. The house was extremely clean, and with a well stocked kitchen with plenty of plates/saucepans etc. We all had wonderful nights as the beds are very comfortable and the area is very quiet. The garden was great to sit out in for lunch and we were able to do that, as the forecast rain didn't materialise, so we were very lucky. Martin was a super host, being extremely helpful to us, with excellent communication. Wifi worked perfectly. A perfect stay, and we would definitely want to stay here again, if we are in Bergerac another time. Thank you so much for making our stay such a good one :-)
What could be more perfect than a stay at Palm House.
Located one street away from the old town, Palm House is spacious, comfortable, clean, fully equipped for all your needs and decorated with flair.
A large, produce market is held in the square at the end of the street on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Restaurants and bars are within walking distance. So too are shops of all kinds.
Got a car? Then the Dordogne region provides so many options of small villages and markets, wineries and restaurants, vistas and chateaux.
I didn’t want to leave.
A special thank you to our hosts.
The property is situated close to the centre of Bergerac within easy reach of all attractions, There is a small garden which gives a good feeling of privacy. Access to the property was easy. There is parking in a private garage within a few yards of the property and, although access to the garage is tight, it is relatively easy. The property is comfortable, spacious and well equipped. Although we did not meet the owners we felt they cared about their guests and were very helpful and friendly by email correspondence. We felt very welcome and secure. Although located in the centre of the town, and maybe not in the prettiest street, it was very quiet. We feel we made a good choice with this property and have no reservation in recommending it to others.
We loved our week-long stay in this pretty house in Bergerac. It was a special place, well-located, spotlessly clean, and filled with wonderful artwork and comfortable furnishings. Having the garage space steps away was very convenient. The owners Martin and Gwendolyn were kind and helpful at every turn. The house A/C and fans in each bedroom kept us very comfortable at all times, even when temperatures got into the 90sF.
We enjoyed the many restaurants all in walking distance, and the fantastic nearby cheese shop and chocolate shop (which also had croissants and sandwiches). The cheese shop owner is fluent in a few languages including English and was a delight. She even had our favorite Brillat-Savarin.
Another feature of the house we very much liked were the exterior windows shutter system...like a garage door for windows. This made for nice dark bedrooms for sleeping in after sunrise. We found it easy to drive in and out of Bergerac to see nearby places. Highly recommend a visit to Issigeac--a great market there and two Michelin listed (but not starred) restaurants that are both delicious and easy on the wallet.
The house has no view, so if that's important to you then you should look elsewhere. It was fine for us as we were looking for a nice, practical house centrally located in Bergerac. However, the radiators stopped working after the first day, which made the upper floor particularly frigid. The owners had been dealing with a hot water problem upon our arrival so we didn't want to bother them about the heat and made do. Our only real criticisms would be that a scant amount of essentials were provided and we were expected to replace what we'd used. For example, we were given three dishwasher tablets for a ten-day stay, and there were no condiments besides a piddling amount of salt, pepper, olive oil, and vinegar. We were also expected to "leave the house as we'd found it," which involved a lot of vacuuming and kitchen clean-up on departure morning. We were also given one bath towel each while there there were a large number of replacement towels in a bathroom closet on a shelf marked, "Do not touch," which meant frequent washing of towels with no dryer and February weather not allowing for line-drying. All in all not a huge deal, but it added up to give the impression guests were more tolerated than welcome. Our interactions with the owners were excellent, so it was odd that their stinting approach to providing for the comfort and convenience of their guests wasn't commensurate with the personal warmth they exhibited.
We had a wonderful stay at the house in Bergerac. Lovely property with great facilities and easy access to all that the area has to offer. Communication with the host was great, with easy instructions on accessing the property and garage. Would definitely recommend as a place to stay and look forward to retuning.
The house is great and we enjoyed out stay. The only negative is the checkout requirement to dispose the trash at the end of the street and we had a hard time finding the trash bins.
