Charming country cottage, peaceful stay, family-friendly retreat, Glenrowan

"We were so fortunate to stay in this gem of a location at the foothills of the Warby Ranges. We were following the story and events of the Glenrowan siege. The cottage has a beautiful outlook and if you are up early enough you will see the sunrise. Everything you need is here as well as extras that make for a very comfortable stay. For those interested there are wineries around every corner. Some atmospheric old pubs are worth the visit. Plenty for kids to do. I highly recommend the interactive Kellyland which puts you right in the action of the events of that time. The whole experience has been everything I had hoped for!"

"What an amazing property!! Waking up the to the sounds of the birds and the Roos out the front. Comfortable for our family to stretch out and relax by the fire after days exploring. Great base for towns of Benalla, Beechworth, Bright Millawa and Glenrowan. Peaceful on the deck in the afternoons with a drink watching the sunset. Highly recommend."

"The property was clean throughout and comfortable place to stay. Great kitchen for long stays although a bit light on for plates and cutlery on 3 dinner plates! Walk in shower and hot water was awesome shower head fitted with a LED temp sensor in which was a great idea have not seen this before in accommodation anywhere Handy washing machine and dryer if needed Bed was comfy not 5* or like home but you get that linen was clean towels were soft Large tv in lounge dining area plus little out door area with chairs and table 3 under cover park but plenty in open Very quiet place easy access Would stay here again"

"The unit was attached to a private house but was private with lockable car parking. The breakfast choice was very good and we had enough fresh milk to enjoy cereal, tea and coffee. If you like to use a face washer you should include one in your luggage."

"We had a wonderful stay. Three generations, 2 couples, 3 children under 12 and 2 singles(Grandparents).The house and the property are beautiful. It is an old house, quirky and charming, and we loved that.The configuration of the bedrooms and bathrooms was a but unusual, but it worked for us.The location is fabulous. We could walk to so may places. The walk along the lake is lovely, We found the splash park on our first walk after we arrived and of course the kids had to have a splash( which was great after driving from Melbourne) The wanted to go to the pool that is just across the park from the house but not all had bathers.Everything needed , bakery, coffee, supermarkets, take away places, Pubs are in easy walking distance The next morning we walked the short distance into town for some supplies.We even found a couple of nice opp shops. Bathers problem solved, along with a charger for my camera and some paper for game score-keeping.The location is also a great home base for day trips like Beechworth, Millawa and wineries.Elizabeth was easy to contact and having the later checkout made organizing to leave much easier, less stressful. "
