Comfy Hotel
The hotel is a quite comfortable place, and their breakfast is exceptional. There is some western food as well as Chinese. The outside and surrounding aren't as glamorous as the pictures show, but the inside is very nice. I would stay there again.

location matters
We chose this hotel because of location near places of interest and subway connection. Area mostly residential, I'd say well off the path of tourists. Great stay, good hotel with wonderful breakfast options.

The Holiday Inn Express in Shangdi is a wonderful hotel with great amenities - fitness center, laundry, amazing breakfast buffet - and close to the subway. The staff also gave wonderful suggestions for local restaurants. Walk to the north corner, turn left and walk to the next major intersection and turn left again - there are great restaurants and shops on this street and a nice mall with a decent food court about 10 minutes walk south.

Staff at front desk are very helpful and speaks English. Even gave us a late check out. Staffs overall are friendly. Room is nice I love the study table and ergonomic chair. Replenishes bottled water everyday. The aircon is warm though already in max coolest temp. Maybe because of the cold weather outside when we stayed. MTR station walking distance and surrounded by convenience stores restaurants and shops. Thanks HI express Shangdi staff.

Great hotel w friendly & helpful staff. Breakfast is excellent w good mix of foods. But subway if a fair walk to station. Also airport shuttle bus no llonger stops by hotel and one has to make a 15 minute walk.

Won’t stay here again
I booked this room because it was close to the Summer Place and because it had a high rating of 8.8 out of 10. Wondered how it got such a high rating? Room was small and bathroom was tiny, Manager was rude and uncooperative, breakfast was insufficient with only banana and a few pears. Will never stay here again.

A great place for 5 nights ...
Holiday Inn Express is kind of a known quantity, but this one stood out, especially for the breakfast buffet. I plan to stay here on all my visits to northwest Beijing. I've been traveling to China since 2005, and this was my best experience at a hotel. pro tip - the Shangdi line of Airport Express ends literally across the street. I wasn't coming from the airport, but it was 30 RMB and 70 minutes during the day. it stops at terminal 2 and 2, and you can't miss the signs at the airport, if you're headed to this hotel. it's a little harder to find at the hotel end (the buses are behind a long wall, which hides the words "Airport Bus" on the sides of the buses, but ask the hotel staff to show you where to look on a map, and you'll be fine.

This hotel is above my expectation. 1. The price is actually not expensive at all. 2. The staff is nice, helpful and efficient. 3. Room is super clean 4. They offered four bottles of free water in the room, and even free fruit! 5. Their free breakfast is amazing! very delicious, a lot of choice. In summary, I would stay there again, and highly recommend this hotel!

Enjoyable stay
I enjoyed my stay at the Holiday Inn Express, Shangdi. It is located about 10 minutes from the subway station, of the same name. In addition, there are various restaurants, a supermarket and a 7 Eleven close by. There is also a Walmart Supercenter two stations away at Zhichunlu (exit B). The room was clean and comfortable, and the wifi worked great. Once you sign in, you receive a 7 day account. I did not watch t.v., but the bathroom was nice and there was plenty of hot water each day. The hotel provides 2 bottles of water, coffee and tea for free in the rooms. Breakfast is served each morning in a room just off the lobby. They serve a variety of food, both Asian and Western (eggs, toast, cereal, bacon, sausage). The buffet has different items daily. For example, on Monday, I had bacon, chicken sausage and dumplings with my breakfast. On Tuesday, they had beef sausage, chicken nuggets and what looked like small spring rolls, but were filled with bean paste (not very good), no dumplings, bacon or chicken sausage. The front desk staff was pleasant, efficient and spoke a good amount of English. I arrived a few minutes before 12 and they allowed me to check in. I would recommend this hotel and I would stay there again, also the hotel was quiet and there is a sign on the font desk warning of the fine imposed for smoking in the rooms.
