Great food with a good amount of options. Staff were talkative and very kind.

Staff was superb all around. AC, elevator, clean room and bathroom. Location was prime but tucked (closely) away from the hustle and bustle. Easy walking distance to Museumplein and DePijp. The tram stop was also literally out the door on the street corner. It’s not the Ritz but it exceeded our needs for a very pleasant stay. Just be mindful that a sweet cat lives on site which is not specified in the hotel listing. :)

Let’s start with the positive things. The bed was so good. The location is great. There’s a tram stop only two blocks away that takes into Central Station within 12 minutes. The breakfast is pretty basic but it does its job. My complaints have to do with the heat inside the room. There’s no air conditioning, at least not during August. The first night I was sweating but their answer was to bring my own fan or leave open the door to the balcony where other guests pass by. They say no air conditioning available. Also I was surprised that there was a mini fridge in the room. There are some nice supermarkets nearby so I like to buy juice to drink during the day. Unfortunately the fridge didn’t work. It never got things cold. I had to eat all the goodies right away I bought so that they were not going to spoil. Even the last juice was warm when I drank it. I complained about the mini fridge and their answer was that they were going to send someone which never happened unfortunately. Still is a good option but I didn’t have time to continue complaining about the bad stuff.

Central location and although given earplugs in room they were not needed. Air-conditioning worked ok, not blasting out, but left on made the room nice and cool after returning from a day out. No tea coffee facility in room which was a bit disappointing as a cup of coffee in amsterdam is extortionate. Then again everything is. 30 quid minimum for a round of 4 beers. Ouch. Rooms a bit dated but clean and serviced every day. Friendly staff and good security with the lift needing your door card to operate. Maybe an ironing board in room would be nice. Didn't have breakfast but looked ok when viewed. View was of street and not sure on the "canal view" stated in the blurb. Maybe one room had a view but seemed unlikely. Overall I liked the hotel very much and would stay again but not until amsterdam gets cheaper or the pound gets better exchange rate or hopefully both. Took a ride on the double decker train to the coast. 2 tickets 66 euros!!! Another ouch.
