"There is no thermostat in the room; only a dial with numerals 1-10 on the in-room HVAC system. The television did not work. They don't use fitted sheets, and the bed making resulted in tangled bedding; not conducive to a comfortable night's sleep. Front desk clerk had a thick foreign accent, making communication difficult. "

"When you drive up to the hotel you will be aghast at the conditions of the building. Paint peeling, boards broken and a lawn mower sitting at the front door. Once in the building things look better. You can see where the renovations in the building start and stop. We were tempted not to stay but gave the facility a chance. The room we had was very clean and comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was extremely limited, and we did not partake in the juice boxes and granola bars offered. I think I would give the facility another chance once the renovations are complete. Until the renovations are complete, I would recommend the facility be closed. "

"Great location in Redwood if you are staying. It was perfect for our stay for a family wedding. Just slept there and spent the rest of the time with family. "

"I want to be fair about my experience. I did find a bed bug in my room. Fortunately it was on the top cover, but it was still concerning. To their credit, the staff responded quickly and immediately moved me to another room. I had clothes laid out after my shower, and the attendant put them directly into the dryer on high heat to make sure they were safe, which I appreciated. Even after changing rooms, it was difficult to relax or get good rest knowing there had been a bed bug. Because of the cleanliness concern, this is not a place I would personally choose to stay again. I would be willing to drive a little farther to stay at a property with stronger ratings. If cleanliness is a top priority for you, that is something to consider when choosing this location."

"Another great stay in this retro downtown Sleepy Eye rental. Mark is a very responsible host. This is my fourth stay at his rentals. The rental is spacious for getaways with the girls or just my husband. Get location for roaming downtown and a great breakfast or later drinks at the Pix. It is quickly becoming my go to when staying in Sleepy Eye!"
