Vacation Rental “Alte Bäckerei Bautzen”

History of the Property:
The property was built in 1890 as an apartment building with commercial space on the first floor.
For many years, the property was used by the family and expanded with an addition to serve as a bakery. This allowed work and family life to coexist under one roof.

Around 1988, the bakery closed because there was no successor. The store was then used as a butcher shop for a few years until the windows and doors were bricked up in the 1990s.
Around the turn of the 21st century, the apartments on the upper floor were refurbished and renovated, and some were occupied by the heirs.

In February 2018, we purchased the property because of its excellent location in the city center and planned to convert the old bakery into our company headquarters, including an apartment and vacation rentals, and began a complete renovation of the first floor and modernizations to the building.
The first phase of renovation was completed in late November 2018, with the ground-floor store finished and the vacation rental partially renovated and refurnished. Further renovations and upgrades to the property and the second vacation rental followed in early 2020. As of January 2021, the office will be transformed into a modern, family-friendly vacation apartment with two children’s rooms featuring bunk beds, a spacious master bedroom (with an optional rollaway bed), a fully equipped kitchen with a counter for quick meals, and a living room with large windows overlooking the city center...

As a result, some work is still in progress and further renovations are planned. We therefore ask for your understanding if this means there are contractors in the building or if not everything is finished yet.



Location & Info
Located right in the heart of Bautzen, our vacation rental is just 300 m from the Kornmarkt. This makes it easy to explore the city center on foot.

The property includes its own parking space as well as a small courtyard with a seating area.
Inside the apartment, there is a kitchen equipped with standard appliances for self-catering (supermarket across the street), a bathroom with a shower, a living room with a TV featuring “Amazon Prime Internet TV” and a radio, and a separate (master) bedroom, as well as two children’s rooms with bunk beds.

This apartment is extremely flexible, accommodating up to six people. Ideal for two adults and 1–4 children. It can also accommodate 4 adults; an extra bed can be added to the master bedroom upon request.

Bautzen, the “City of Towers,” captivates not only its visitors but also all its residents time and time again with its stunning old town.

The city center, with all its shopping options, restaurants, and sights, is just a few minutes’ walk away.



Arrival
Check-in is available from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM; after that, by arrangement. If necessary, we will leave the key in the key box at the rear entrance.


Departure
Check-out is until 10:00 AM; please return the key to the key box at the rear entrance.



Parking
The property has its own parking lot behind the house. Access is via the stone house, either to the left of the house (the gate may be locked—you’ll be given a key) or to the left behind the gym, through the grounds of the stone house.

The parking lot has five spaces; the two on the left are for guests. To check in during the week, you can pull over briefly with your parking disc in the LIDL parking lot across the street to pick up the key.

Additional parking is available at the Holzmarkt (50 m) to the left of the building, across from the LIDL.



Internet & Phone
The apartment has Wi-Fi, which we provide free of charge.
You may also use the safe by arrangement.

Security Deposit
A security deposit is required upon check-in, payable via the booking platform or, preferably, by bank transfer. An additional security deposit and fee apply for pets.



Final Cleaning
The landlord will handle the final cleaning of the apartment; however, the apartment should be left swept clean. If needed, you may also use the vacuum cleaner or broom/mop during
