Top Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse Hotel Reviews
Driftwood Cottage: Bass Harbor, ME
10/10 Excellent
"This house was a great find when we were ready to leave busy Bar Harbor behind and be in a quieter and slower, more woodsy place! The house was renovated and super clean, cute and easy to use with many amenities. We were there in mid August so it was cool enough only having an AC in the bedroom, and the bed and couch were comfy. Peaceful woods surround the house and it is within a mile to Bass Harbor Lighthouse - you can even walk to it. southwest Harbor is a cute very small town close by, great little coffe shop Saint Dreux. To get back to Bar Harbor/Nature Center at Acadia was 30 min. We had an issue with a window not closing properly and the owners were super fast to respond and had someone at the house to fix it within 30 min! Def would recommend for a quiet respite at the end of exploring for the day. Must have rental car / car to access."
Peaceful, clean, spacious, comfortable on 2 acres. Free Acadia pass w/4nights!
8/10 Good
"We had an excellent stay at Tina’s house. The house was spacious and well appointed. The location was amazing, right by the lighthouse and a couple of trails, and town and plenty of places to eat. The host is great at communicating before what to expect and how to get in. It does seem like this is her house and she takes great pride in it, which is amazing but for us led to a somewhat uncomfortable experience. It was clear that there is a camera outside and she was watching it (got texts about how many cars there were and the people coming out of them) not too shocking but did make me feel watched. Then upon checkout (which we cleaned the house more thoroughly than usual and left exactly on time) I got more messages about a missing cup measure (which was later found in a different cupboard). It was clear she probably didn’t feel comfortable with people in her house which was fine but when paying to vacation somewhere I prefer to feel more welcome and relaxed. One other neutral note, not bad but just a note, lots of Christian messaging throughout the house, visible in photos so not a surprise, but there is a lot. Overall we had a great stay, and the area is amazing just some small things about the welcome and tone would have made us feel more comfortable."
Spacious Cottage Overlooking Bass Harbor with Sweeping Front Lawn
10/10 Excellent
"This property is excellent for families to share. Every aspect has been detailed out very well including the hike sticks in the front (which our family thought was very thoughtful!). The only thing is the bathroom in the attic suits kids more than adults which means you need to plan your showers accordingly. The host is a pleasure to work with and has put very nice reminders across the property.(Take trash on a specific day near the kitchen trash for example or a reminder to keep shower curtains inside the bath tub etc. in the right area). Lastly there were so many books / material that was available inside the property about Acadia parks which we could use as well! In short, this is how you run a property where families come together and enjoy. Thank you for being such a great host!"
Reed Shore Cottage: Oceanfront, Sunset View, Private Shore Stairs, Harbor Watch
10/10 Excellent
"Everything was easy and lovely, but the view says it all! We had coffee in the morning and take-out at night sitting on the deck enjoying the birds and boats on the water immediately in front of us. The host also was immediately and very helpfully responsive to our requests. We are already thinking of a return visit. We loved Maine!"

Large Secluded Pet Friendly Home Just 3 min. Walk To Harbor- NEW 2026 SPECIALS
10/10 Excellent
"Our family thoroughly enjoyed our week at this home!Everything in the description is exactly as you will find it. We loved the service for 12 for our home cooked breakfasts and dinners. A rare find - 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms - made getting ready easy. We were just a short walk to both Island Cruises (highly recommend) and Seafood Ketch restaurant. There was plenty to do on the couple of rainy mornings we had - puzzles, games, and movies.Communication with Bob was very timely and efficient. Any question we had was promptly answered before and during our stay. This is an excellent choice for our family and we would stay again."
