"The individual casita with self parking in front was great. Units were clean and the a/c worked great. All the staff on property were friendly and helpful. We loved the breakfast buffet and hot spring pools.. The view of the volcano was superb. The property had beautiful tropical landscaping. We will be back again!"
Arenal Paraíso Resort & Thermo Mineral Hot Springs
4/10 Poor
"The villa has some positives, including parking right in front of the room and a pleasant breakfast setting.
However, several issues significantly affected our stay. The room had insects, the bathroom was not well maintained and did not feel clean, and the bedding was uncomfortable. There was also no water one evening, which was very inconvenient. Service was slow, and there was a billing error at checkout.

"Second time we stay. Very nice and comfortable. Love the breakfast! We were just a bit disappointed that they got rid of the insect sanctuary. We were looking forward to seeing that again. Beautiful resort overall!"
The Royal Corin Thermal Water Spa & Resort - Adults Only
10/10 Excellent
"My stay at the Royal Corin was wonderful! The property is super clean with plentiful amenities, wonderful food, and a hospitable staff! While this was my first time in Costa Rica I honestly can’t imagine a better place to stay. The resort was also very close to town with plenty of things in close proximity. 10/10!"
"The setting is honestly breathing! Surrounded by lush landscape and incredible views of the volcano, you feel completely immersed in nature. You wake up and immediately appreciate how beautiful and peaceful everything is. That said, the location does come with a bit of a trade-off. It’s quite far from town and most excursions, so getting around requires some planning (and time). If you’re hoping to pop in and out easily, this might not be the most convenient option.
The property itself is charming but the rooms are a little dated in terms of decor and overall feel. It didn’t take away from the experience though.
The he only real disappointments was the pool, it’s quite small considering how large the property is, and it felt a bit underwhelming given the otherwise expansive setting.
Also worth noting: be prepared for a workout! The hotel is built into the landscape, so there’s a lot of uphill walking. It adds to the unique character of the place, but definitely bring good shoes and be ready for some stairs and climbs.
Overall, it’s a beautiful, peaceful escape with stunning surroundings—just go in knowing it’s a quiet offset resort from the more touristy area of Fortuna. "
"Gorgeous property. The landscaping beautiful. The seven additional semiprivate Jacuzzis were well maintained and conveniently located for all rooms. The pool area was clean and inviting. The room itself was immaculate, private, quite, well decorated and spacious. However, the bed was usually HARD. I kind of couldn’t believe it.
Negatives: The staff consistently made us feel like we were putting them out. The restaurant staff more so than anyone definitely had a chip on their shoulder day and night. The $$$ prices at the restaurant were astronomical!!!! Also SHOCKING. And even though most staff are bilingual, it was extremely difficult to communicate with most all of the staff members.
Honestly, I was extremely impressed with everything until I stayed there for a couple days. Primarily due to the restaurant. I don’t think I’ll be going back. Nothing is worse than a bad attitude when you’re on vacation. :("
"A million good things to say about this hotel. Our check-in team was incredibly friendly. When they learned that my mom was sick and had to go to a hospital in San Jose, they processed our refund without any problems. Everywhere we went, the staff exceeded our expectations.
The rooftop even provided room service for us, and one staff member went out of their way to bring a special knife to cut open our coconut. This is the kind of place where you can truly relax and trust the people around you to take care of your needs.
We will definitely come back. The hotel’s designer is also a genius—the property is beautifully laid out. The pools have great depth for little kids, and the whole place is very family-friendly with thoughtful safety considerations throughout."
