Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Disliked: Amenities
There's a lot to fancy about this hotel but I wouldn't return or recommend this chain. It's very close to attractions, good restaurants, the metro and is very safe, clean...etc. The nice/helpful bilingual staff was also a plus.
My main gripe is that for a highly-rated 3-star hotel, it's very low on amenities. The standard room was so small, there was no space for a real desk if you wanted to work. No quiet conference rooms for work. Motel One refuses to have phones inside the rooms in all of their hotels. The TV cannot connect to your devices via bluetooth - another inflexible policy. The soap/shampoo nearly dried out my hair!
They refuse to allow any coffee/hot water machines inside the rooms (might be a Euro regulation). You'll have to get hot water from the bar, which means multiple trips in one night. The plastic room keys failed many times so that meant more trips to reception. Very irritating.
If the cleaning staff accidentally damage/remove your personal items, don't expect compensation.
Overall, it was quiet but around the mornings, you can still hear the very loud door slams. That's the way the doors are built.
The breakfast buffet was reasonably priced and fresh/tasty but very limited. Somewhat dull and uninspired. I think other hotels include this at the same price point.
