I had facial surgery and stayed in my room all day. Went out each evening for dinner. Staff was super friendly, I enjoyed the bar. Found great food in walking distance each evening. Felt very safe. City bus stop very convenient. Would definitely stay there again. Pool is just lap pool, but comfy lounge chairs all around.

We had a wonderful stay! The room was spacious and clean, and very comfortable beds! The pool area was a real bonus, and was a lovely place to relax after a long day seeing the sights! In terms of location it is well located near a train station- with most journeys take around 25-30 mins! Overall we had a great time, and would recommend to anyone!

The hotel was great for my wife, daughter, and I for our visit to Barcelona. Very clean and in a good neighborhood. It was an easy walk to the subway and a 10 minute subway ride to get to the Centro area. The breakfast was the best hotel breakfast buffet I’ve ever had.

Our stay was incredible - upon arrival we were upgraded to a junior suite, which was a pleasant surprise! The suite was very spacious, with a large jacuzzi (although this wasn’t working) and another shower area. The decor around the hotel was very unique - especially the breakfast area/furniture and overall ambience.

I don’t think this hotel lives up to the standard of 4 stars as shown at their door, especially during my time of stay when they were having renovation going on, which caused serious issues that I don’t think they handled properly - for example, the elevator was broken, you don’t know which floor you were at unless you open the door to look, every time when you were in there the noise and the sharp move made you feel scared, and even worse, there was no clear sign to indicate which button was for opening the door or stopping the door closing, as when you try to put your hand between the door and the frame, the door wouldn’t stop closing so you run the risk of hurting yourself… but I have to say the staff was nice and helpful and I hope the problem was just temporary.

This was a perfect spot for us as we were visiting our son studying in Barcelona. It was close to walkable Metro stations to get everywhere we needed to go. The area itself has many conveniences for a quick bite, personal needs, shopping, etc. The hotel itself was quiet and clean. The room was better than the photos which is unusual. My only complaint would be the pillows were very thin. But the people there were very helpful. It was November so we didn’t even look at pool area so I can’t comment on that. It also has a nice looking restaurant but we didn’t try it out. But if you need a place to stay in bustling Barcelona for an inexpensive stay this is the place.

Not the best

The location is not bad. The hotel is very old and run down. Rooms are not very clean and the bathroom full of Mold around the bath tub. Felt very uncomfortable using the bathroom. Also rooms have smoke smell. We had to change rooms as the first one was full of cigarette smell

Our experience of Hotel Catalonia 505

This hotel was very clean and staff were very friendly. However our room was not warm due to heating being controlled remotely according to calendar dates not the weather. We were promised a heater and blankets neither of which appeared until I asked a 2 nd time and we got lovely warm blankets. The room was a good size but only one chair. Nowadays one would expect USB charge points in the room. We were able to borrow one adapter from reception. Our room was at the front of the hotel and very noisy with motorbikes passing along the road, tho not during the night.
