Generally a Scottish mile was longer than a mile in England, a fact which was immortalised by Robert Burns in his poem "Tam o' Shanter" - "We think na on the lang Scots miles..." After the Union of the Parliaments in 1701, the standard English measure began to be introduced in Scotland, gradually replacing the Lang Scots Mile. The Lang Scots Mile Walk was created in 2002 on the seafront of Ayr to commemorate the town's historical links with Burns as well as to encourage healthy exercise. Three day break

The apartment was in an excellent location between beach and town centre. The place was spotlessly clean with a sparkling bathroomThere were some issues which we reported to the host and he undertook to resolve them once he returned from holiday. In particular when told the oven was faulty he arranged a replacement within 24 hours.

relaxing stay in Ayr

Everything was perfect, the location, the flat, the beds. Great communication with the owner. Finding the parking space could be a bit tricky but in the end there is no issue to find a free space. If there is something which need to be check: the window of the 1st bedroom which doesn't close properly and can be an issue with children Anyway, in conclusion... Will we come back? For sure!

Family Holiday

Lovely property in a quiet area with great access to the beach and town centre. Easy to locate and good communication with the owner Ian. Ayr is a lovely place to visit with great places to eat, would recommend Reel Plaice, Lychees, Priya and the Tam O'Shanter.

Overall we had a great 3 nights here. On arrival we struggled to work out which was the correct parking space. We thought we had it figured only for a resident to tell us we’d been in his spot for 2 days. The correct spot just needs the number painting to avoid confusion.

Golf trip

Very comfortable, plenty of space and quiet. Location is very convenient for travelling to anywhere in the Ayr/Prestwick/Troon area. It is a short walk to restaurants in Ayr town centre.
